Halo has had always 2 aspects: single and multiplayer. I know that a lot of ppl only talk here over multiplayer. And this is not wrong.
“Overrated” means here not: we should rate multiplayer: 10% and singleplayer: 90% in the future - No!
I want to say here we should stop rating multiplayer as 90%! (This happens fast, especially if you look in the H4 forum).
I only want to say: this is not representative; + it doesn’t says: multiplayer is more important than campaign.
I personaly think, that the single player aspects are more important for a lot of players. The most of the ppl who buy the game (and play singleplayer/campaign) won’t be in this forum. They have no reason to be here, no habits. They do not want to talk over the game, have no topic … or similar.
And noone should force them ;p
Sure > in a forum of a game (especially in one with a Gold Membership with costs) the multiplayer ppl are overrepresented; this lies in the nature of things. And it is not a bad problem, if you keep this fact in mind.
Would be realy interesting to see how much percent of all Halo players posted something in this forum
- or are even registered here.
I don’t say its bad or good. Don’t understand me wrong.

Iam not bashing the ppl who want to discuss here over balance or something like that. Sure not: a lot of ppl who criticise and discuss things are right and I am happy about the fact they talk over the problems here.
But I want to say: … (well lets say it like this:)
I have no gold membership, I had the trial membership and played Halo online, now not anymore. For me campaign is much more important. I also play older games alone: H3, H2 and so on …
And only cuz I don’t play a lot of multiplayer this doesn’t mean I won’t buy Halo 5, a SpinOff or the next generation of the console.
And I guess a lot of ppl think the same way … and a lot of these ppl are not even here

Well: the sense of this small personal-opinion-article?
I want to say that it is not a world collide for halo if it runs down in the multiplayer ranklist. It is not good either!
And I want to say: “Don’t forget the single-players!”
A lot of studios make the mistake to focus to much on multiplayer; especially if there are problems and a lot of ppl cry very loud.
Well, singleplayer guys cry very rare … most of them don’t know how to cry somewhere
- they just won’t buy the games in future, if something runs bad.
I am NOT against criticism, and sure: Iam not against fixes, patches, add ons, balances and all that stuff …
… May be I am ust a little bit scared, that 343I panics and loses conrtol … and Halo 5 will be driven against the wall cuz of the singleplayer part was to bad/or to short/or to standard.
We all don’t want that. Both aspects need to be good: single- and multiplayer.

Didn’t Halo 2 had got an add on only for mutliplayer on CD? - It failed right?!

See this as a small statement of one, who loves to play alone; and who has not enaugh money for the gold membership
… whew … now iam realy tired. =p
… but I also think: 343 is professional enaugh to manage both.
