H4 Community, read this! For a Better Forum.

This forum has become a place to incoherently ramble about snippets of a upcoming game, to which no one here has actually played, nor have enough evidence to support any positive, or negative claims.

A few months ago, i would be deeply involved in the 343 community. It was definitely fun, but over time i grew lesser involved because of random and sometime fallacious claims.

I am no longer active in this community. I will read the bulletins, watch the videos, and buy the game. Worrying about technical and cosmetic changes is futile, since any comparison would be to past games, and wouldn’t necessarily work with other Halo’s but arguing whether or not it will work in Halo 4 without playing the game is fallacious. I make no claims of positive nor negative views, so i am neither a “hater” or a “fanboy”.

For those of you who are fed up, do as i am. Leave the complaining to the rest of the community. If you truely care for the future of Halo, just view the news from this site. See the viDocs. Buy the game. If it sucks, return it or just look at game reviews. If its great, then that shows how this bickering is even more irrelevant. I have no “faith” in 343i, but rather confidence. Arguing at this development point is, though, unnecessary. There is some problems and claims that are very constructive AND relevant like the cosmetics of map and characters, speculation, in-game lore, and technical (Only if there is enough evidence and something substantial apposing it), but few.

im not saying to not voice an opinion, but voice a credible one.

Examine your claims, Halo 4 community.

Nope, simply to examine their credibility of the claims before asserting ridiculous assumptions.

So basically, what you’re saying is, forums must only be used for saying “OMFG HALO 4 WILL OWN!!!”, “I LOVE YOU 343 AHHH”, and “LOLBLACKOPS2”?

> So basically, what you’re saying is, forums must only be used for saying “OMFG HALO 4 WILL OWN!!!”, “I LOVE YOU 343 AHHH”, and “LOLBLACKOPS2”?

Please read my thread before making such assumptions.

If you even examined it you wouldnt have said that.

I am buying the game despite my concerns. That may or may not change but i doubt it. 343 is intent on pushing this game through it seems. I don’t think Halo 4 will prove to be a dismal experience. Reach already did that with poor added ideas but thanks to this game, Halo 4 and on will be better for it.

It’s like the perfect guide on how to NOT make a Halo game IMO. It did the netcode and forge right (sans greyness) and the customization was better. Gameplay? Not so much.

People are missing the OPs point so’ll lay it out for you simple like: If the game sucks, return it. If not, enjoy your new Halo experience but stop with the baseless assumptions.

I agree 100%.

Thanks for the “simple” version, too. I hope people will actually understand me now.

Do I get a cookie for understanding you before the simple edition was released?

In all seriousness, I hope people really take this to heart and learn something for once.

What were you reading?

OT:
No arguing?
No cheering?
No opinions…

I can’t even begin to see how you’ve come to truly believe this is right.
Ofcourse, that may be because I’m on the debate team, and analytical opinions are the main idea.
But even still, I never voice my own opinion until I have placed myself in my opponent’s shoes.
If everyone would have the courtesy to consider others’ views, Waypoint would be better.
But that’s the way things are.
You can’t expect everyone to spend their thoughts on anything other than their own desires.
We’re only human.

And if you truly do believe debate to be wrong, than why are you posting here?
You’re debating that debate is wrong.
Self-contradiction forces foolery upon respectful men.

You are a respectful man, do not become a fool…

I honestly did not want to dumb it down as i could have offended you. I am glad to see that i did not. Some people just don’t read between the lines and mistake OPs intent.

I never said not to debate, simply make sure its a credible problem.

Arguing at this development point is, though, unnecessary. There is some problems and claims that are very constructive AND relevant like the cosmetics of map and characters, speculation, in-game lore, and technical (Only if there is enough evidence and something substantial apposing it), but few.

Many problems proposed are fallacious. Ive only seen probably around 15 genuine problems. This is why i say “examine your claims” because if everyone did so here, we wouldnt see such irrational claims on this Forum.

Yes.
It seems as though we both misunderstood each other.
As I said in my first comment that average men are unable to look past their own views and desires.
And, again, they’re only human.
You are right to deem them fallacious, just as they are right to deem Halo 4 fallacious.

I see the misunderstanding. Remember though, that reason opposes opinions, and there’s a fine line thats not established in these forums that needs to be there.

I agree, I am starting to get fed up with all of these negative points of view that (Very)rarely make a decent argument. I Don’t think that we should have blind faith in 343i or Halo 4, but we shouldn’t be hating a game we don’t know yet.

This whole place makes me not want to play Halo

> This forum has become a place to incoherently ramble about snippets of a upcoming game, to which no one here has actually played, nor have enough evidence to support any positive, or negative claims.

The great thing about forum sections is there is always one up and down from it. I’ll be upfront: I can’t stay in the Halo 4 section simply because of the posts and topics I read in here as well, but its far from the circumstances I’ve experienced in the past, therefore, I’ll stay the walker in the middle of it all. Makes for a more entertaining movie night, I can tell you that right now…

> A few months ago, i would be deeply involved in the 343 community. It was definitely fun, but over time i grew lesser involved because of random and sometime fallacious claims.

My recommendation is to go look at the General discussion thread, you’ll find the Yo! Thread particularly entertaining I think…

> I am no longer active in this community. I will read the bulletins, watch the videos, and buy the game.

I’ll see in the game then.

> Worrying about technical and cosmetic changes is futile, since any comparison would be to past games, and wouldn’t necessarily work with other Halo’s but arguing whether or not it will work in Halo 4 without playing the game is fallacious.

Not when it is done appropriately…

> I make no claims of positive nor negative views, so i am neither a “hater” or a “fanboy”.

It is not a problem to have an opinion based on the information you see. Your correct, we don’t know the game, we don’t know what changes are in store and that is the beauty of it! We can speculate and provide feedback based on what we read.

> For those of you who are fed up, do as i am. Leave the complaining to the rest of the community.

I’d recommend actually taking a new approach to things rather then simply be the silent person watching everything.

> If you truly care for the future of Halo, just view the news from this site. See the viDocs. Buy the game. If it sucks, return it or just look at game reviews. If its great, then that shows how this bickering is even more irrelevant.

I’d rather be a leader who was able to transition some sense into people with calm, logical, and precise opinion(s), fact(s), and/or examples then be a silent follower.

Thank you for your opinion.

> I’m not saying to not voice an opinion, but voice a credible one.

Everyone has a right to post in the manner of there choosing. My personal conditions are:

  1. your on the internet, expect anything and everything.
  2. Follow the rules, guidelines, and policies while you post on here.

And a final piece of advice to everyone:“Be the person who can read any topic, section, or forum site with an open mind, a clear point, and never forget: your going to post something crazy, idiotic, [insert insult word here], so when you do, simply admit fault, apologize, and continue on with the discussion.”

> Examine your claims, Halo 4 community.

I agree.

In short:

Waypoint has completed the metamorphosis into Bnet.

I never thought someone would abuse the word fallacious but I was wrong.
