Hey guys, so for a few years I’ve wanted to start a YouTube channel with a friend dedicated to video games and us both being avid halo fans figured the release of halo4 would be a perfect place to start. Now I don’t want to do the same thing we see all over YouTube and Twitch so I came here to find some of the pros and cons you guys have of other channels you guys follow to try and build around that and make it as original as possible.
I mean if you are a good speaker, that does not ramble and is not annoying then that is a good start. Try to be relevant. Maybe specialize in an area so that you arent easily copied/accidently copying someone else. That kind of stuff. Dont over market, but if it is appropriate then suggest it to someone.
Considering everyone is currently talking about Halo 4 on YouTube wouldn’t it be better for you to focus on something more…original?

I’m fully aware of what he’s referring to, my point still stands.
Go on YouTube right now and count how many Halo gameplay videos there are talking about Halo 4…I bet you can’t. Too many, which is why I’m saying be more original.
Do something about Halo 4 but with an interesting spin.
Not just “Uh, hey guys I’m FlargleHargle29 and this is my buddy Rox and we’re going to uh, talk about Halo 4 and, uh. Stuff. So yeah, start us off Rox.”

I appreciate that never really thought about it like that.
So seeing as you seem to be aware of the youtube and Twitch community I figured it’d be a good start to ask you, So me and my friend who by no means are shy came upon an idea for a channel based on video game drinking games so like as an example trying to win an online game of halo 4 but every time you die is to take a drink of some sort, also which includes commentary on random stuff along with the game. I know this is a weak example of the types of games we would play it was just quick off the top of my head example but do you think something of this sort would be successful and interesting? we would most likely be partly intoxicated
