We need a beta for reasons such as making the game fun for the official release.
What if there wasn’t a beta, then when the game comes out with 4546463 bugs and 352464 flaws and 45464 things that people don’t like because they are unbalanced we will have to live with it because patches will never fix all the massive problems.
With a beta we can prevent these things because 343 will be getting a massive amount of feed back.
It should be on halo waypoint so people who dont have cea can still get it.

I think there will be a beta invitation with CEA just like there was with ODST, that’s saying if there will be a beta.

They already said it wouldn’t. Disappointing.
It would surprise me if they didn’t have a Beta since they’ll want to show their new baby to the fans and make sure they’re going in the right direction.
Their shouldn’t be a beta because people complain about things tha are fine and then the game turns into garbage. Example: Halo 3 beta. Spikers were awesome and trip mine worked to perfection. In the actual game they are really useless. Like they don’t even have to be in the game they are so useless.
However if their is a beta peeps that preorder Halo 4 should get it a week early than anyone else and then it should be open to all XBL gold accounts after the first week.

How about bugs? And pointing out other things that would upset people so that they wont complain like they do about Reach. And making sure the game is balanced.
I’m pretty sure they’d have a beta for halo 4.

People will complain no matter what. Are you forgetting that Halo Reach had a beta? What did they change from Beta to release? The color of players in Invasion to make it even less appealing. Let the company make the game that they want to make. Halo games are so tweakable now adays that they can pretty much make changes whenever they feel like it. Not having a beta makes the final release much more worth waiting for. When you play a beta it’s awesome then you wait wait wait in super hype which sucks then the game comes out and you already played over 1/3rd of the multiplayer. I know that I’m not forced to play a beta to avoid all of this but cmon… Imma fanboy

Still, a public beta with millions of players is much better than a small internal beta of about 5,000 players. Both from development perspective and marketing perspective. The beta leaves people to want more and then they go and buy the full game. Practically, getting as much people to play as possible is very useful.
Halo Reach beta helped them to fix a huge amount of bugs and also tweak some areas of the game.
I’d say that it would be very stupid from 343i’s perspective to not have a public beta for Halo 4. They can get millions of people to playtest the game, so why to say no?
The beta should be just free. That way more people will be willing to test the game as they won’t have to buy another game first.
