A lot of people have been hoping for Halo 3 Anniversary and it has been flat out confirmed that it is not going to happen. However what is somewhat realistic is releasing an update (though it has been awhile since they have done so) similar to Memories of Reach that could provide some nostalgia for us fans. I don’t know what weapons or armor could be in the packs (maybe the katana) and it isn’t the ideal way to honor Halo 3, but I wanted to throw this out there and see what people could think of for req cosmetics.
EDIT: What they could do with little effort is using already forged created maps made by the community that are remakes of other halo maps and have that as a featured playlist. Then you could get an emblem for ranking in it, I dunno
EDIT 2: Or they may release halo 3 for free…again.
Some new REQ’s is all I will allow myself to hope for. Maybe even an armour piece or two from Halo 3. Aim low to avoid disappointment, it’s a mantra that’s worked out pretty well for me so far.

Honestly I’m not expecting anything at all.
I don’t think there is anything they can do that will properly honor Halo 3 other than an anniversary. It seems like such a missed opportunity (and honesty a disservice to the fans) to not give the last of the trilogy an anniversary edition.

Yes, especially with how well done halo 2 anniversary was done it is a shame.

Well this is also such a bad time for 343 to do a H3A. They just released Wars 2 a few months ago with an upcoming expansion and multiple DLC’s on the way will on the other hand they have people working on Halo 6. They simply can’t spare the time or the man power to work on H3A. Which do you think is more important, remastering an already existing game or invest as much time, money, and people as possible into making sure the next installment is polished and complete at launch?

I did a 4 player system link with some friends just last night on Halo 3. It aged really well, so an anniversary now seems too soon. Maybe when Halo turns 20 years old it will be the right time for H3A. As much as I’d love Halo 3 back, it just seems too soon.

I would absolutely love H3A, but the bit here about man power is completely true.
To be honest, it still holds up pretty well on the MCC version. Graphics look alright with the uprez, and the gameplay is still phenomenal!
I just wish I could have H3 multiplayer, but with Halo 2’s BR. That would be awesome-sauce!

I would definitely buy this pack!
For CQB with its original halo 3 paint job.
I would pay double for CQB armor, maybe tripple.
the brute shotgun(idk its name)and spiker would be nice

I understand that, but I feel when you remaster the first and second installment, you are too far in to back out. To me, you either do all of them or none of them

We already have 6+ types of automatic weapons.
And maulers were only fun duel weilding.
Bruteshot is the correct answer.
Rapid grenade launcher with a blade!

Hmm I suppose H3 multiplayer could be fairly well emulated in H5 it just needs the proper maps and mode build. There’s plenty of maps from H3 people have remade that are really good

I’d like a classic playlist (without spartan charge, ground pound or sprint) with halo 3 map remakes made in Forge. Also maybe some new REQ’s like halo 3 versions of armour (also the armour for CQB abd EOD from the classic req pack).

This doesn’t mean there won’t be a 15 year anniversary
I wouldn’t hold your breath, Halo 5 isn’t likely to receive much more than patches at this point. I could be wrong, but 343 seem to be busy and that’s a good thing.
Halo 3 just needs a PC release, modders will give it a better Anniversary treatment than any company can.

i totally forgot about brute shot yeah that would be fun
Well if 343 does release any H3A packs, I just hope Hayabusa armor comes in those packs…I miss the look of a Samurai sword on the back of my spartan.

This won’t occur. The Hyabusa armor is technically copyrighted by Team Ninja. It only showed up in Halo 3 because Bungie made a deal with them that also gave them rights to use a Spartan II character in their Dead or Alive fighting game. But it was a one-time deal.

First off, holy moley a monitor replied to my comment 0.0, I’m honored. And yeah I did see something on Haybusa being introduced because of copyrights with that company, I just complete forgot because how much I loved that armor plus H3A has been something I’ve been wanting on my Halo wishlist, but I’m sad now it won’t happen unfortunately. Still, I think it would be awesome for 343 to add it, but yes I also agree with copyrights and such being thrown into the picture, it would be better not to add it in one way, mostly for funding purposes and the one time deal with Bungie/Team Ninja.
