Sorry guys, I don’t want to see this happen. We can already play halo 3 on 2 consoles.
I would love to have seen it brought to Xbone under different circumstances. Had 343 gone a different route other than the MCC, Here’s what I think they should have done given the gift of hindsight.
1 Halo CE anniversary should have had a completely remastered multiplayer along with
the redone campaign from the original game and been on xbl. I was so excited to be able to match through live on CE MP. I was heart broken when I learned this wasn’t the case. CE multiplayer was in my glory years.
2 Halo 2A should have also had an entirely remastered multiplayer. This should have released in MCC’s place.
3 Then we could now be talking about halo3A following this same trajectory. It would have been awesome. But halo 3 is already available through MCC. And the game still looks great for its age.
I just think those resources are better suited creating something different. Like maybe a new halo series to replace Spartan assault. Make this a classic style multiplayer only game with original mechanics but new weapons maps etc. Multiplayer inspired from halo 3, to play like halo 3 but with brand new content. At a cheaper price point as well similar to halo wars. Just Old school arena, no campaign or warzone.
It would bring in something new for those of us that miss halo 1-3 gameplay instead of rehashing the old, again. It would also allow for 343 to take halo in their current direction and have the other series staying 100% true to original halo. The fan base has never been so split. It’s time to start to cater to both. This could be a start.
My 2 cents. If halo 3A did launch. I would still be playing it constantly anyway.
I think it would be… make a H3A stand alone game. A remaster from the ground up essentially. Then all the “old school” Halo players have a place to play with more modern graphics. While H3 does look alright on MCC it would look even better with a remaster especially if it’s a 4k remaster. Not to mention a Halo 3 Anniversary edition Scorpio Xbox just sounds like pure epicness.
I think H3A would be really good if they remaster the multiplayer and campaign. Sure it still looks good today but if it had graphics similar or better than H2A it’d be amazing. I really like the overall aesthetic of Halo 3’s human things, like the Marines and cityscapes so hopefully they wouldn’t change the art direction.
If I remember correctly 343 just wanted to do H2A by itself, but MS were the ones who pushed the whole collection idea.
You would rather have a team focus on a “Spartan Assault” style game idea rather than a whole console game? I disagree with that. What I don’t disagree is that of not using time and resources to make H3A. The game is perfect the way it is, and don’t need someone butchering it.
Doesn’t 343 usually outsource remasters? Wouldn’t really be a waste of time or resources if that’s the case.

Replace. Not focus on.
Thats not At all what I want or wrote.
What I want is a new multiplayer series inspired by halo 3 mechanics. Not halo 3 for the third time.

They should outsource their servers and coding too if that’s the case.
Halo 3 was my favorite game in the entire series - that said, I kind of agree that its ship has sailed. I’d rather the time and energy from 343 be invested into making Halo 6 the most legendary game they possibly can to end the Reclaimer trilogy.
Certain Affinity and Sabre Interactive worked on CEA and H2A while 343 was making Halo 4 and Halo 5. It wouldn’t really take away from anything 343 wanted to do. That said, would I rather have another spin off game similar to ODST than another anniversary? Yes. Do I think we need two Halo 3s on Xbox One and one on the 360? No. Do I think CE and H2 being the only Halo games from the original Xbox were the only Halo games that “needed” the anniversary treatment? Yes. But at the same time do I think it would be kinda cool to have a remastered original trilogy? Yeah. But then it would be kinda annoying to play through the MCC and have to switch to H3A and then back to MCC for Halo 4 (for epic campaign runs, but I can live with that). Then why would CEA have to be the only game without epic Blur cutscenes? And do I also think that if they made a H3A stand alone and did it perfectly it would allow all those whiners to finally relive their magical precious childhoods from way back in not even a decade ago and stop whining all the time? Yes. Or no, they’ll find something wrong with it. The Pelican’s forward thrusters don’t sound right. The shade of blue on the BR scope is too light. The announcer isn’t yelling quietly enough. The buggers wings are too translucent. The SMG is too matte or too shiny. Chief’s right shoulder pad is the wrong shade of nostalgia. At that point, just play the original people. lol. You know how we are.
^ a blob of my thoughts on H3A
Well all thy are doing is updating graphics and such on the maps, campaigns and such. It’s not like making a entirely new game I mean they made MCC in a year with Halo CEA, Halo 2A, Halo 3 and Halo 4. Beside that 343 are finally under one building so thing will be done quicker.
