I got the opportunity to play the MCC version of Halo 3 at a Microsoft store. Someone had loaded up campaign and it looked amazing, felt amazing, etc.
Then I went to the menu. This is where the frustrations begin. I see that instead of just properly porting the games, 343 has decided to integrate all these games into the menu system that they probably should have just used for H2A and their custom H2 multiplayer mode.
Not inherently wrong, but was lacking immensely in the way it’s currently set up.
I went to play Halo 3’s multiplayer of which I was looking forward to the most.
One playlist. Not even an FFA at launch. Red flag no. 1.
Armor presets. Couldn’t find a way to open the proper character customization screen. Red flag no. 2.
“Ranked coming soon…” - Red flag no. 3.
So I have one simple question about the game: when is 1-50 ranking coming, when is customization coming, when are more playlists coming?
I had presumed this was a proper anthology. Like what 343 did with the “remastered” Halo 2 multiplayer though, it seems that they couldn’t keep their hands off of changing every little thing like menus and playlists. All this needed to be was a collection of these games for the Xbox One, so we could just play them. So we could do what we should have been able to do before it was announced there was no backwards compatibility.
I was really looking forward to starting over with the service record in H3. Now I am completely alienated. The game looks and performs great without feeling off at all. However, there’s really nothing for me to play other than customs with some buddies right now because of what they’ve done.
I bought a one month for this and was really psyched in anticipation for getting my first 50 in what I had assumed was the definitive version. I now essentially have to just go back to the 360 version and use that on yet another account. When are playlists coming?
I guess the armour pre-sets are getting everybody annoyed but oh well

If you don’t like it… Don’t play. It’s as simple as that. Is it really that big of a deal that you can’t customize your shin pads? Just play the game and have fun.

But…but… My individuality… Its gone. (Not being sarcastic)

What individuality? its Halo, you’ll end up looking either red or blue. Its silly to think other gamers will notice that you have a new shoulder pad during a match, lol.

What is this, 343 droning? Really? Also, there was no “shin pad” customization in Halo 3.
I’m asking for information. I never said “-Yoink- YOU, I’M NEVER PLAYING”. I wouldn’t have bought the games if I didn’t want to play them. Armor customization is minor compared to playlists and ranking but the point here is about the product. This the Master Chief Collection, not Halo 2 Anniversary + bonus half–Yoinked!- components of the previous games. It shouldn’t be hard to release a proper anthology. It apparently was on release day. Even though I could care less about customization, that was an integral part of that game and that’s why it’s important. Where is that game? You know, the menus and the playlists…like every other port? Same goes for Halo 4.
However, even disregarding armor, how am I supposed to just play and have fun if the game is NOT THERE? There is only one playlist and it’s 4v4 unranked. Unless they really don’t care about their customers at all, that’ll presumably change, and I just want to know when the change will occur. Does anyone know? Does anyone from 343 know?
I’m not here to entertain a bunch of bitchiness or some sarcastic comments about individuality from people who’ve obviously never played Lone Wolves. It’s just a question.

My individuality thing wasn’t sarcasm… If you weren’t talking about me then by all means carry on
