Man, the Halo 3 Classic Throwback playlist really feels great! No spartan abilities, decreased speed, increased jump, and everything really works well. The only issue is that it is utilizing Halo 3’s slower-paced gameplay with Halo 5’s fast kill times, mainly due to the BR. Now, I love the BR. Always been a proponent of BR starts. However, the bullet magnetism and range of the current BR, combined with zero thrust and decreased movement speed really make for easy kills across the map (not to mention the slower shield recharge leaves you as a target for longer periods of time).
I really would have liked to see how this playlist would work with the new weapon tuning test settings. With less magnetism and shorter range on the BR, I feel it would have really enhanced the feel of this playlist. Thoughts?
We need to keep duplicates down to a minimum, meaning none…please post your thoughts here. An already started, and is still on the front page thread about the playlist. Thanks.
It needs one flag, one bomb especially on high ground. Asymmetric game type are a Halo staple. The removal of these game types is disappointing to say the least, the high weighting of slayer over objective game types is a typical move by 343i, yeah you could say most people play slayer, but this is a throwback playlist, there should be at least some throwback game types. I’ll give 343i a 6/10 for this but they must try harder.
Not surprising the BR would feel OP in this playlist.

They took away sprint but also decreased base movement speed? That sounds counter intuitive. I thought the base move speed in Halo 3 was faster than that of Halo 5, but Halo 5 used the sprint mechanic to compensate.

Nope, Halo 3 was slower in general, even in comparison to its predecessors.

Canonically, that’s because master chief stepped in a big wad of gum as he stood up in the mission Arrival. It never occurred to him to remove it. Once chief did it, all the other Spartans copied him.
I wish they could incorporate the new H5 BR from the weapons tuning test into the H3 playlist. It may feel nicer than the current H5 BR.
