Why is H3>H5 Beta
Increased movement speed > Sprint
Crouch Jump > Clamber
Strafe > Thruster
This whole Ground Pound is just random
So H3 had all these nifty abilities already and in a much more skillful manner. Also it allowed players to be in control, added to the skill dynamics and made it much more entertaining.
So these Spartan abilities remove these things. Take the experience out of the players hands and the game does it for you. This is not fun.
A successful crouch jump is for more satisfying and rewarding than a clamber.
So I don’t want to make it sound like the 343 Devs have wasted their time with all this… or maybe I’am.
I always like the equipment from H3. I wished their was some innovative equipment added to the game. Example: like a trip mine that was actually effective. Maybe make look
like a futuristic claymore. I miss the Bubble Shield.
After almost 3 weeks of playing H5 Beta… I went back and played H3 and I found it harder, in a good way. I remembered all the things that made H3 amazing. I would rather see H3A come out before this thing going on with H5.
I still find Halo 3 the easiest game in the series.
Not all the spartan abilities are direct replacements to old tactics (or whatever you want to call them).
Sprint is not a direct replacement to enhanced movement speed. With sprint you are trading away your ability to shoot and regenerate in order to move faster.
IDK about everyone else, but in older games i usually strafed to just keep my foe on his toes, and I still do in H5. I (and a lot of others from what I’ve seen) use thrusters as a “holy cap I gotta -Yoink- here” tool.
Clamber and crouch jump are pretty much the same, I’ll admit (clamber requiring less skill, but crouch jump is kind of unnecessary to use too).
I don’t think you can really compare all these new features directly to older features.

I believe that you can in fact compare these new spartan abilities to the way Halo was made. There are clear parallels. In fact 343 has said as much. Specifically Clamber becoming the new crouch jump.
By 343’s own admission, Bravo to be exact has said that there is much debate about Sprint in Halo. I feel like the debate was been won. The Halo community has spoken. Sprint is bad. Why make a mechanic just for the sake of making the mechanic. Then “balance” it.
Essentially 343 took what was not broken and tried to fix it. I would of liked to seen a Peak Shot mechanic. That’s an example in my opinion of something that could be added to the gameplay that hasn’t been there before.
I agree with only one thing OP. Sprint has to go. Also ads doesn’t belong in halo.
I dont understand hiw is crouch jump more skillful than clamber. Its just pressing a button while jumping and clamber is the same.
Is Gandhi hop the same as crouch jump? cause Josh Holmes says they’re bringing that back on his twitter

Problem is most of halos community are used to this new feel because they all left to play other stuff. And the majority of people here voting are a small portion of what halo had. And 343 nor bungie want to make a game without these new mechanic’s. Sprint especially. Because without sprint being out of halo. Most people will just play the new cod, destiny, Titanfall, home front, battlefield and many of other fps shooter out now. That’s my thoughts anyways, idk
