H2V Doesn't Work. (PLEASE HELP!)

The problem.
I bought a copy of Halo 2 Vista for myself and another one for a friend. I installed it fine but when it came to adding the product key it claimed invalidity.

I went through the process of multi-checking every letter and number to make sure there were no typos nor that I had confused any Bs to be 8s or anything like that. My friend also tried with his product key, but he ended up with the exact same problem.

I’ve heard that the game is no longer receiving any online support (though I had still hoped we could Network together with some other friends) but we can’t even earn Achievements as you need the product key for that as well.

The claim.
I know that we gamers aren’t entitled to online play and all that, as that is subject to 343 Industries’ willingness to keep the servers online, but I know that I am entitled to a working product key in a game I purchased.

The cause?
What is causing the product keys to malfunction like this? Could it be that too much illegal key generating has through the game of chance, caused a great portion of the existing, unused keys to become registered and used for illegal copies of the game?

The solution?
Have anyone else encountered this problem? What can I do about this? Would it help if I called someone at 343I or Microsoft and sent them a picture of my receipt, the game and it’s product key? If yes, which number should I call and/or which email should I contact?

I’m sorry but I don’t know the solution to your problem. I don’t even know what’s its cause.
I bought a copy of Halo 2 Vista too and fortunately I didn’t experience your problem.

It’s partially true. That doesn’t mean you won’t be able to play online in the future though.

At the end of the instruction manual of Halo 2 Vista, which I’m reading right now, you can find a list of telephone numbers for technical support. I’d tell you the one of your country if only I knew where you live.
Then, I advise you to ask here too.
