H2A The Pit Remake

I have made a perfectly scaled pit remake based off of Halo 3’s fan favorite map. All of the lines of sight are perfect, jumps are exactly the same, and plays just like it use to.

My plan is to get this map noticed by the community. If you do not like the pit, then do not waste your time replying, but if you are willing to give it a shot …

You are missing details around the Sword area (at least), and there are many jumps you didn’t attempt to do.

I thought this was going to be about asking 343 to make a H2A remake of The Pit and I was thinking ‘Nooo!!!’ But this may be cool to check out.

pretty solid, but I don’t like the extreme outdoors feel of it.

The Pit was far more enclosed and gave you a sense of being totally indoors.

Seems decent but I agree with a previous poster in that the open sky box kind of ruins the feel for the map. Slap a roof on that map and add some colors, monochromatic concrete everywhere is hard on the eyes and call outs.

I’m trying to make 2Fort from Team Fortress 2 haha. Its going very…meh

That is very well done. I second what Alpha says, you should add some color in there for red base vs blue base and call outs.

Also does the jump from the platform to the middle of the map on your way to rockets still work? (my GOD has it been a long time, can’t even remember all the call outs!)

I’ll have to grab that from you and play some CTF customs.

I’d like to mention a few things.
I have used almost all of my available objects already which, consequently, does several things:

  • Prevents me from placing several “scenery” type items from H3 that didn’t affect gameplay (monitors in sword)- Has an awful effect on the lighting (I’ve tried placing different special fx’s and it turns out too dark to play)- The more “huge” walls I use, the more it affects the loading time/optimal performance (which is why I chose not to do a roof and other things)
    I may be able to raise the outside walls a bit to make it seem more enclosed.
    I am also testing different lights around the bases and green box, but I have a feeling it is making the optimal performance even worse.

I have also noticed that some people who have tried running a 4v4 game on the map have been experiencing problems loading the map.

As 343i likes to say… Status: investigating

I appreciate the feedback from everyone(good and bad) and I am trying my best to change what I can. My biggest concern is gameplay more so than cosmetics.

Please help spread the map and maybe we can get the pit back into H2A!!
