Does anyone else kinda get this vibe. H2A multiplayer seems to have a lot of characteristics from H4, ones that I thought were bad. The announcer is the exact saem, the body and armor physics, the graphics. I’m not freaking out or anything about this it’s just brought concern since I honestly hate that game. I wish they just would have used the engine from the remastered campaign. I think that would have been the most logical thing to do. It just seems to be they reskinned Halo 2 with Halo 4…
Heavily modified Halo 4 engine to mimic Halo 2’s gameplay. Also, the armor is a mix between 2 and 4.
Halo 2 Classic is there for you to play.
No i’m definitely gonna be playing H2a I mean its got silenced SMGs it’s just i’m kinda disappointed of the resemblance Haven’t played it yet so I can’t judge…
Aesthetically Halo 4 was gorgeous, this one looks even better.
I know I’ll wait to actually play it before I pass judgement. Very hard to tell how everything actually handles without having the controller in my hand.
There are a lot of graphical elements taken directly from Halo 4 because it’s the most modern Halo and building from scratch requires a lot more work than going this route (we’d be looking at a vastly delayed release if they started somewhere other than Halo 4).
Gameplay wise, the physics and gameplay elements themselves are designed to emulate Halo 2. Movement is crisp, there is no sprint, jumping is floaty, no Ordinance, no Loadouts, Dual Wield, Halo 2-esque weapon mechanics etc.
So what? Halo 4 IMO is awesome graphically speaking, I also think that halo 4 has the best halo gameplay, I think people should stop hating things because they just didn’t like it, everyone has different preferences and tastes.
I’m a halo since halo 2 sadly, I was not able to buy Xbox live in order to rank on h2, later I earned enough money to buy a 360 and rank on h3 but I got stuck on brigadier just 1 or 2 consecutive victories to reach general, I never got max on halo 3 because of reach, I played reach until halo 4 came out and by now I can tell you that halo 4 is the best halo ever; is just that people like to stick with a single type of gameplay and they not realize what natural evolution is on a new game, I like every single halo game but halo needs to be what it is now, and if you didn’t like it I think you are not going to like halo 5 guardians, they’ll probably remove loadouts but at the end halo 5 will be another unique halo game, I can’t see your point saying that you hate h4 and that you’re kind of not liking h2a graphics, what did you expect? 343 calling you home asking if you’ll let them use h4’s assets or if you need them to do it from scratch?
If I am going to be a stickler about graphics, I’d bash even the PS4 since my PC can pull off better graphics.
The gameplay looks fun and I can’t wait to give it a run. If it’s good, it’ll give me my Halo fix until Guardians come out.
We’ll only know when we’ve played it for sure. I hope it’s totally different or this could be another fail by 343.
I’m fne with it tbh, just want to play Halo!

But, that’s just…like…your opinion man. ← if you don’t get it then you are too young and shouldn’t be here.
Anyway, you contradict yourself several times and you coat it with horrible grammar and sentence structure. First, you say people have their own preferences and tastes, but you also say they should stop hating things because they don’t like it. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Second, you are basically saying Halo 4 is the best halo ever and that if you don’t like it then you don’t know how games evolve and appreciate that evolution. THAT is complete S%&^. I for one have played halo since the beginning. I can say without a doubt that the reason I don’t like Halo 4 is because the gameplay is too different from what Halo CE, 2, and 3. You can sit there and tell me you like Halo 4 and what it offers, but you should at least respect why I hate it instead of trying to tell me that I am ignorant and narrow-minded for hating a game that I personally think is ruining the Halo series.
The point OP made about Halo 2A is that the game looks very similar to Halo 4. The HUD and sounds are practically the same and if I’m not mistaken they used the same physics engine. I understand where OP is coming from because even a fraction of a change in the physics engine can throw the whole game under the bus. The majority of purists and veterans of early Halo will more than likely tell you that Halo CE, 2, and 3 are very different games from Reach and Halo 4 in basically every way except guns, characters, and miscellaneous things like shields, health, teleporters. The moment you start to intermingle styles and game engines is the moment when things can get thrown off track for good.
You can go ahead and play Halo 4 all you want. Do it, I really do not care; but, the moment you start trashing on people because they don’t like “your favorite game” is the moment when I will berate you. And what the freak does “I am a halo” even mean?
Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.

It’s not the “exact” physics engine of Halo 4. 343 has stated that they even contacted Havok to remake some of the physics used in Halo 2.

No, it’s not, but the thing is they never should even touch the halo 2 physics. There was hardly anything wrong with it. Why use an updated physics on a proven game?

Because it’s not meant to be the same thing. It’s 343’s own celebration on the game. It’s not meant to be Halo 2. It’s meant to take what Halo 2 is and modernize it. The Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer is a bonus on its own. Originally we were just suppose to have the campaign remastered like Halo 1. Also, a few benefits from using a new code for the game is we get the new things like the Hornet and forge, which the original did not have physics for.

I can see where you’re coming from, but I don’t really think you have anything to worry about. At its core its still Halo 2 just bumped up graphics and a few new big features in multiplayer, like having a hornet on Blood Line (Blood glutch) It seems like they’re trying to incorporate the best parts of each Halo game into the Halo 2 multiplayer experience and I say let them.
If you don’t like H2A then there is always H2C multiplayer. I personaly don’t care how much H2A looks like H4. I just want to fool around with the gungoose and then go to forge. After that i’ll go and take the next month to explore every feature of the MCC.
Halo 4 is the latest Halo game. What did you expect them to do?
It’s perfect!

Learn from their mistakes. There’s a very good reason why Halo 4 died out so quickly…
