While I do agree that there should be more Halo 2A maps you’re argument that there needs to be new Halo content to keep fans occupied is not logical. With Halo Reach being added to MCC theres plenty of content to keep the fans going until Halo Infinite and beyond.
^Agreed that adding Reach is going to be a good way to keep us busy.
I’d still love to have more H2A maps remastered, but it doesn’t come free. From what I remember, they actually contracted another studio to do this for the originals.
343 would have to see enough of a benefit to do this again (can’t really monetize it, so they would need to think that it would generate enough goodwill to be worthwhile).
Who knows, maybe after they’re done with getting Reach in, and dealing with the PC edition, they might turn to things like this. I hope so.
I remember thinking it was super strange at the time that they worked so hard on H2A just for it to account for so little of the multiplayer in MCC, So I agree wholeheartedly with that point.
I think the fact that they’re adding Reach in conjunction with them seemingly not caring about the scarcity of H2A in multiplayer for the last five years both point to them not doing anything new/else with it.

I mean like NEW content not just ported material—dont get me wrong I am super stoked for Reach, but it is all the same material, just a little sexier looking.
They Probably never do it because if that where to happen then they would have to do the same thing for Halo 1 A and putting a new Multiplayer experience in there with every single map remade for Halo 1 and Halo 2. But in all honestly it should 've been done from the start. That’s the hole point in releasing a remaster version but not to come out with a few maps.
I think that when you take a classic game and strip it of all its core mechanics and gameplay elements that make it a faced paced shooter that can at times resemble a fighting game, a lot of people are going to be turned off by that. Sometimes, when you create a game with the intention of appeasing everybody, you end up appealing to no one. H2A isn’t modern Halo because it lacks abilities but it also isn’t truly a classic Halo because there’s little in the sandbox to push a real, skillful metgame.
Halo 2 Anniversary was a bad experiment, let it die.

In what way was Halo 2 Anniversary a bad experiment ?
Halo 2 Anniversary is a remastered version of Halo 2, just like the remastered version of Halo CE.
On topic. Who knows op ? I think the MCC is getting attention because Halo Infinite is a long way off, late 2020 imo. They may or may not do more of the Halo 2 maps. I think we’ll know more after E3.

I think new H2A maps will probably be announced at E3. I would assume that 343 had plans for map pack dlc for H2A initially, given that they initially intended for them all to be included but due to time constraints they could not have them all done by launch.

I’m sorry I wasn’t clear, but I was referring to the multiplayer of these two games. The single player remastering is amazing.

Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer was not a bad experiment at all, and was actually widely successful lol. Lots of people play it, and lots of people still play those 7 remastered maps today.
And yes, Tons of people loved it. It was basically a fixed version of Halo 2 essentially.
Agreed. I hope when they start work on the PC version of H2A they will remaster a few more levels and include them in the PC release and as an update for Xbox MCC.

Burial Mounds would be pretty easy to make in Forge.
Some maps yes, but I feel that with Reach coming to MCC they really would not need to remaster maps like Ivory Tower, Headlong or Beaver Creek, as those have already been remastered in Halo Reach, so adding them to Halo 2 A would be kind of redundant.

The maps in Reach’s sandbox play entirely different to the H2A sandbox, so no, it would be still just as worthy as a remaster, in fact, they could possibly reuse those Reach versions in the process of remaking them for H2A!
That aside, couldn’t 343 at the very least add some community-made Forge maps to help bolster the map count a little more? It’s quite sad that they couldn’t have at least done thar, seeing as how many Forge maps show up in Halo 5’s matchmaking… (coughBTBcough)
