Hey all, I was wondering if anyone could let me know if the new mod tools will be available on the xbox pc app? I own the game there and not on steam and would hate to have to rebuy it just to get access to the mod tools when I already rebought MCC when it came to PC (long time player on xbox)
It’s only available on Steam. However, it is compatible with all PC versions.
Give it time and people will likely upload the tools elsewhere for people who don’t have the Steam version of the game.

I’d assume that 343i wants to give the tools to players who bought the game on the Windows Store too. I know I had some difficulty finding out where the tools were on Steam, is there a direct link to them anywhere for the Windows Store?
Do you own the games themselves or do you just have them from the Xbox Game Pass? I have no idea if that makes a difference.

I own the games on the xbox pc/windows store, and it was already the 2nd time i bought the game since I bought it on xbox long ago 
the main reason i bought it on xbox vs steam when i first got my pc was to preserve my achievements but its linked with steam now so it didnt even matter haha

unfortunately to access mod tools you need to own the games on steam, although using mods you can still do it on the xbox pc app. I wanted to try making mods however
it just doesnt feel right buying the game a 3rd time, even if its “on sale” for $20 since I bought it at almost full price on xbox and on pc last year. And remember at launch the game wasnt even working so i already felt robbed when I first bought the game. Please dont make me buy it a 3rd time
I messaged Postums on discord and he linked me to one of the MCC dev forums and highlighted one sentence that said they “will continue to bring updates on bringing these tools to xbox game pass for PC.” He said he doesnt have a time frame but told me “its on sale on steam so if you want, now is a good time” lmao
Even though I own the game, not game pass, I couldn’t wait since I would love to learn modding and how games work starting with my all time favorites. on top of that the xbox game pass for pc app is garbage. I cant believe 343i is pressuring me to buy this game for a 3rd time ($40 on xbox one release–broken -Yoink- game at launch, plus reach and odst dlc, $40 when it first came to PC, now another $20 on steam just to get access to mod tools). I just do this out of my love for halo but it’s really frustrating that I pressured myself to do this. I feel absolutely robbed but I hope time in the mod tools will make me justify buying this again.
