I believe that they both have the same TTK, but the H2 BR is more accurate and has less recoil. As far as I know, the H2 BR is basically a H5 BR with the recoil dampener and laser sight attachments.
While assists/ranges may be different, they’re equal in TTK (within 1 bullet).
Things that are not equal:
of bullets to kill: H2BR-12, H5BR-11. For all intensive purposes, they’re equal in RoF and TTK.
The H2BR swaps in slightly faster.
The H5BR has 0 spread but instead recoils leaving a 1-2-3 trail due to the burst. The H2BR has much less burst kick, so its vertical trailing is much tighter.
Bullet magnetism: the H2BR has “much” greater influence.
Both have an unscoped red reticle of 37m and 76m when scoped.

The H5 BR has a slight faster TTK than the H2 BR.
My friend and I tested the two over and over again and the only difference we saw besides the obvious is the switch time.
I believe that the H5 BR has a ttk of something like 1.2 seconds and H2 BR is 1.5. both are extremely close but in a LAN environment with both players beginning to shoot at the same time and not missing any pellets the H5 br would win but only barely. Odds are that they would trade kills as the killing burst from the h2 br would be in the air as the h5 br kills you
H2 BR has a slightly faster TTK, but significantly less auto-aim (ie, the reticule doesn’t turn red as soon when in proximity to the enemy).

It was actually confirmed by 343 on stream last Friday that the H2 Br has a slightly slower TTK than the H5 Br, they just didn’t go into detail about it. Obviously, to the eye, they seem equal because the difference is so small.
Well if you have good accuracy the H2 BR seems like the better option even if it has slightly lower TTK because it just seems easier to get that final headshot with. At least that’s what I’ve found.

so watching that video if you slow it down the .25 in the settings you can see the H5 BR get the kill slightly slightly faster. its a fraction of a second but it is still there none the less. idk how that will play out in a BR duel though

Actually, if you want to do that, you should do so at the beginning of the test. If you do, you will see the 2 are off-sync by a bullet. BUT the H2BR is a 12-bullet killer, not 11 like the H5.
The window for hit trading is greater than a single bullet… As is, we can trade M6 with M6 kills. So the difference in TTK is equal for what the game cares. The difference in # of bullets required to kill is a mix with their spread and assist mechanics.
The H5BR takes 1 less bullet but spreads more than the H2, as well as has slightly less bullet magnetism. At range there really isn’t a better weapon. In close range, neither are going to miss any different than the other and that 1 bullet difference will still register a trade, if there indeed was a perfection-trade.
I can’t place my finger on why I like the H2 br more, but I do.

Are they both 4 shot kills? It seems like the H2, takes an extra shot fora kill.
H2 BR just feels slower. But I like it better anyway

That’s because the Halo 5 BR kills in 11 bullets while the Halo 2 BR kills in 12. I don’t understand the disparity considering both give the same of damage the shield is gone while the original BR took 3 bursts (7 bullets) and now just 2 burst (6 bullets).
