I was running around Warzone a couple days ago and I decided to spawn in a H2 Beam Rifle and do some sniping on Stormbreak and Apex 7. I did not get a 1-shot kill either time I used the weapon (it was the basic beam rifle, not the Delta or the mid-tiered one). Does it not do 1-headhost kills? I mean I am not a fantastic sniper, but on Stormbreak, I got a hit on a moving guy that reaaaaaaaaally looked like a headshot, but he did not go down. Then on Apex 7 a guy was standing still (also sniping), and I took my time for the headshot but had to shoot him again to get the kill. Were both guys running upgraded shields? Was it just a fluke? Am I really THAT bad? Or does the H2 beam rifle just take two hits to kill? What gives?

It’s a bit easier to use than the standard beam rifle. It is pretty easy to get headshots. Either you were hitting body shots or they were using upgraded shields.
I find upgraded shields very common once level 6 and up Reqs are reached. Saves people from snipers and the bayonet weapons.
You probably just got really unlucky.

Thanks. Maybe the moving shot was a body shot, though I’m 98% sure it was to the head. The other one definitely was right to the temple though.

That would be my luck lol. I just hadn’t had that issue at all with the normal sniper rifle, which I call in fairly frequently. So I was confused when it happened both times with the H2 rifle.

This actually just happened to me too on a game of assault. We had the first two bases done so I thought I’d whip out a Beam Rifle and have some fun.
9 mother -yoinking- headshots in a row on people who had upgraded shields then just boosted behind the nearest cover lol Only managed 1 kill out of a full Beam rifle 
At really long range the Halo 5 Beam Rifle seems to not register head shots sometimes as well. I’ve shot at enemies in the distance and their shields take damage after hitting them in the head but they won’t go down. Rationally, a few of those were just misses that hit their torso, but some were situations where only their head was showing and I still managed to hit them without killing them.
