Old news but man am I excited for this! For two years we’ve been giving 343i feedback down to the tiniest detail of what made the old Halo’s so incredible. November 10th will show us whether or not they have truly listened.
Strangely enough, I’m more excited to see how they blend new ideas with the old more than I am just to see a return to the old. Personally, I’m gonna be watching out for these things specifically:
- No sprint
- Descope
- No grenade indicator (I can live with an indicator, but I won’t like it)
If I see these three, I’ll be optimistic about the beta. If I don’t . . .
. . . well, the community be will rioting anyway, so what I think won’t matter.

Sprint is trash. I hate it. Ruined maps. I don’t care if super soldiers can’t sprint. Maybe they are always sprinting. Spartans only know one speed. Fast. Increase base movement speed.

Have sprint in campaign, thats ok I guess. Anywhere else however is a nono

You could run in Halo: CE. You just had to push the stick forward all the way.
i really think some form of sprint is going to be in h5, and grenade indicators prob will be too. descope i think could go either way

This is what I’m hoping for. I liked Sprint in H4, especially after going back and playing matches of CE through Reach; Sprint adds a bit of frantic to it, allows footsoldier movement that doesn’t seem impractical on maps made to give open spaces for vehicles and adds extra options for attack approaches. While I disagree with a lot of other stuff in H4, this wasn’t one of them.
Grenade indicators will probably be in H5, like it or not. Descope… no idea. Hoping so as it’ll make BR/DMR/Whatever less dominant over all else if a scopeless weapon user can keep descoping them with tiny accurate bursts. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve averted a Splazer in H3/Reach by plinking the guy and making him miss by an inch or so without the scope.
