H:CE:A Keyes terminal

I just wanted to commend 343i on their work in pertinence to this specific terminal. Honestly one of the saddest, most horrifying and downright brutal things I’ve ever seen. Made me start crying and I had to stop playing the game after for a bit because it was so visceral.

“It…huuuurts”

“Don’t…let…me…forget”

The voice acting was bone-chilling. Who ever Keyes’ is played by needs some recognition after this (if he doesn’t already).

Having read The Flood, it was amazing to see this scene finally have a visual for it but I was not expecting that. :’(

You can blame Sgnt Stacker for that…Seriously that is his voice acting

I loved that terminal too, they did a fantastic job on all of them.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, they all have had a tremendous amount of work put into them and it shows. The Keyes terminal just stands out to me more-so because of how tragic it is. Keyes doesn’t realize that he is doomed until the very end… from the viewers perspective it is mortifying because we know that there is no hope for him from the beginning.

I would also like to say that the music used could not have meshed any better with the visuals. High Charity is one of, if not the saddest-sounding Halo tracks in the games (also happens to be my favourite song from any of the OST’s), and it fits perfectly with probably the darkest moment in Halo lore.

if they ever do a halo legends 2 or any halo dvd i hope they put all the terminals on it

> if they ever do a halo legends 2 or any halo dvd i hope they put all the terminals on it

What do you mean?

I think he means as a special feature…

And OP, I completely agree. I have also read that book and I’m glad they added it into the game for people who never read the book.

You want to thank SEQUENCE, not 343, SEQUENCE made the terminals.

In my opinion Halo has had some of the best and well know voice actors, so I just thought I would share this is you haven’t already seen it, P.S. I can’t believe the gravmind’s voice was done by a REAL person O_o! epic.

I gotta say that this terminal is by far the best one in CEA. It’s disturbing to watch as Keyes is slowly being picked apart only to satisfy the wants of the Proto-Gravemind. I couldn’t imagine being in that situation. Not only is his mind being torn to pieces, but his body is basically being digested alive to sustain the Proto-Gravemind. That there is very mind jarring to watch. Yet I can’t help but watch it more than once…

But 343 wrote them.

Lets not all forget about the new portrayal of Halsey in this terminal.

Truly, this terminal was all around amazing.

I enjoyed re-watching the terminals after reading Primordium. Makes better sense of some of the little things Spark says.

same here after reading the Forerunner Saga’s, it helps uderstand much more

Yeah this terminal was amazing.

It fleshed out Keyes a bit more and made you a lot more sympathetic towards his plight. A LOT MORE. The terminal was brilliantly voiced.

Before to me he was only really seen as “Mr Exposition” who kept on getting captured. I know you have your books and stuff but 343i took the opportunity to give Keyes some character that we can watch brilliantly. I loved the retconning.

No. William C. Dietz wrote that terminal. Everything that happened in the terminal had already been explained in Halo: The Flood, which was released in 2001.

Yeah, the Keyes terminal was really sad, I didn’t think it would be that brutal. 343i did a terrific job with it.
