I did 2 months ago. I keep coming to the forums and hope something good has happend
I just keep coming to the forums because it’s entertaining seeing the mental gymnastics people are going through to defend Infinite.
I’m starting to think I’ll wait until they have a ranked Team slayer playlist.
I also hope this whole BR mode is just rumors and not legit. If it is I seriously think it’s going to hurt this game a lot. Battle Royale mode should just be its own game. So many resources will go to Battle Royale It’s harder to tune weapons and vehicles because they would play differently in Battle Royale then they would say in 4 on 4 and so on.
I have no problem with a battle royale Halo I just think it should be its own separate game and not influence this one. This one has enough issues and problems as it is… And I swear to the gods that in about a royale mode does come and it’s here before a ranked team slayer playlist and environmental effects or biodomes I think they call them for the campaign, I am going to be really pissed off and not happy with them.
I seriously think everyone should just stop playing this game for 3 to 6 months send a message to 343 and Microsoft and maybe when we come back things will be better.
The craziest thing about this whole situation is there was a perfect storm of mediocrity in gaming when Infinite initially launched. For example, Battlefield 2042 just came out as well as COD Vanguard. I’m not sure how favorable those titles were received. Had Halo hit the mark the game could have knocked it out of the park. But instead BTB went down for weeks, along with the whole host of other issues. With the success of Elden Ring you have to wonder what would have happened if Halo didn’t follow the bandwagon of trying to become a live service and innovated instead. It seems the popular opinion is that live service is an unfavorable model. I’m pretty bored of that model myself. Hopefully Halo gets it together eventually but it looks like it will take a long time. Like, beyond season 3 at least. Whenever that is.
Its unfavorable for player experience, popular for making money. What 343 has told us is that they hands down value monetization over player experience. They specifically broke the tried and true Halo experience in order to try and reach into dedicated fans pockets.
What they achieved is having this be the first Halo title that I have not spent money on.
Ever since games could receive constant updates post-launch rather than just like one or two a year, developer publishers realized that they can release a broken mess and fix it as they work on the next title.
I would rather think of it as Star Wars Battlefront II Classic’s ship vs ship battle.
ah, but do you think there will be a season 3?
From the basis that Certain Affinity has mainly developed smaller side project like multiplayer maps for Halo 2 and Halo Reach, the multiplayer portion for Halo 4, Halo CEA. I would assume that it’s mainly a consulting firm.
However, it should not be viewed as a relief that Certain Affinity develops Halo Infinite’s Forge based on there previous track record with the infamous Halo 4 Multiplayer/Forge.
The CEO of Certain Affinity is Max Hoberman, one of the OG Bungie guys, the guy in charge of supervising the development of literally all of Halo 2, 3, ODST, and Reach iirc, from the UI, to the armors, the multiplayer, the Forge, etc. Certain Affinity was founded by a group of the OG Bungie crew. 343’s meddling is the only reason anything in Halo 4 sucked. 343’s meddling will be the only reason anything in Infinite’s Forge sucks, like any microtransactions, bad optimization, or some other nonsense.
CA brings together an exceptionally experienced, unusually talented group to form one of the largest independent developers in Austin, Texas. The company’s 250+ full-time employees include veterans from dozens of successful game studios, with Max Hoberman, CA’s founder and former Multiplayer and Online Lead for the Halo series, serving as CEO.
Unlike 343, CA is competent, only hires top tier developers with tons of experience, doesn’t outsource to randoms or hire newbies, and keeps them full time, no stupid 1 year contracts.
Before they tried to sell me blue three -Yoink!- times, i might have agreed with you.
Given how it turned out, wouldn’t you be too?
Have they said how long Season 2 is going to be? I hope it’s not the same as Season 1.
There’s just too much waiting involved with 343. And most of the waiting players do go through ain’t even worth it.
Wait for S3? Nah, no thanks. It’s become quite clear that S2 won’t be addressing the main concerns and frustrations of the community so I’ll simply enjoy other games, the better weather and before we know it we’ll have CODMW2…there’s absolutely no point wasting more of our time on this empty shell of a game when there are much better games available now and coming out in the not too distant future.
No. Which is worrying.
If it is 6 months, idk why they don’t just come out and say it. It’s not like we aren’t gonna find out in a month.
Can’t wait for season 8 so we can see their assessment of the player feedback from season 3 so they can assess it for a roadmap of an assessment that leads to an actual, literal roadmap that takes them to Ohio where they learn how to grow potatoes which inspires them to add potato themed weapon accessories to the game. Which, in turn, gives more player feedback leading to more assessment of player feedback and the cycle continues.
I thought Ohio was corn? Did you mean they would go to Idaho?
I can’t wait for the final release of the last two maps, forge, and co-op campaign in season 6! Just ten short years from now! Oh gideee! I love having game release in pieces!
No, knowing 343i they would go to the wrong state…
Nope.
Last they said, it was 3 months, but with how many people are asking them," How long is S2?" and they aren’t answering, is worrying.
But, they have said that S2 will receive significant content throughout the season, so at least it won’t be as painful as season 1
