Guys behind Chief; Spartans IV's or ODST's?

The screenshot in question

If you have a keen enough eye, you can see the men in armor behind chief appear to be wearing Recruit Armor. I’m wondering if they’re Spartan IV recruits, or ODST’s that have adopted the armor. What to you think? It’s looking to me like they’re Spartan IV Recruits.

Another “Mystery Soldier” on a warthog turret.

They’re definitely not ODST’s. The ODST armour shouldn’t and will not change so drastically, and besides, ODST’s are way smaller.

Also, the Recruit armour is different than the ‘mystery Spartan IV’s’, I think anyway. I’ve noticed a few differences.

They are spartans.

They look like S-IV’s to me.

Well, being logical I assume that they’re Spartan IVs and not ODSTs.

They look nothing like ODSTs at all and Halo 4 is simply 5 years after Halo 3, I doubt in that span of time they’d change the ODSTs from their armour to Spartan armour.

Sure, I bet a few ODSTs got put up to be Spartan IVs but thats different from being an ODST.

Also, we’ve seen this helmet which looks more like an ODST helmet than the helmet in the picture you’ve shown.

That is all.

They are SIVs.

They look like S IVS with recruit helmets

Okay, so now that we agree that they’re Spartan IV’s…why do they have the same colors?
I understand that Spartan II’s and the regular Spartans III’s had a uniform color (I don’t mean that as a physical uniform, I mean it’s the same throughout), but Noble Team had separate colors, as well as Spartans in simulation (MM). Thoughts?

To me, the foremost one on the right hand side looks more like a marine / ODST, but the other two that aren’t the Chief are almost certainly Spartan IV’s.

I would say it’s likely that particular squads had certain colour schemes etc, but that’s pure speculation.

No idea with how Noble’s varied colours would work with that.

The two blue helmets are Spartans but the one of the right seems ODST or something else etc. That’s not Spartan armour he’s wearing.

Maybe they are the playable characters in co-op? I see four characters, four players maybe?

That’s a good theory.

Not to be rude but that’s the first problem, taking anything from Reach’s campaign seriously. lol

As for the seperate colours, possibly to make a point of being in a battalion/ team? (horrible with those terms) i.e: Black primary = batallion 4, Orange secondary = team 3?

Who knows, maybe they’re just simply allowed to customize a bit more.

Probably from the same squad.

> I understand that Spartan II’s and the regular Spartans III’s had a uniform color (I don’t mean that as a physical uniform, I mean it’s the same throughout), but Noble Team had separate colors, as well as Spartans in simulation (MM). Thoughts?

The only two members from Noble team that were part of the original team were Carter and Kat, who, granted they did not have the same armor, had the same colored armor (blue), albeit it wasn’t exactly the same. And the SPARTANs in the Infinity simulation are only colored red and blue in team simulations (or, obviously, if that’s your default). Remember, you have your chosen colors to play with in Spops (lol @ terminology) and FFA games.

(The above is totally my opinion/interpretation and probably not canon at all.)

I think the guy you are refering to are Marines.

I also believe that 343i confirmed that co-op characters were Chief clones.

They’re definitely ODST’s. They have the same colours and everything. Also, how come both of them have exactly the same armour? We know that Spartan’s tend to have their own distinct armour.

Also, that soldier in the back of that warthog has exactly the same armour, he’s an ODST as well.

How can they be ODSTs if they have the same looking armor as Spartans and are the same size as Chief. Plus, they are wearing the Recruit helmet. The Marine is also not an ODST.

On second thought, I’ve considered the fact that you are either:

A. Trolling big time.

B. being obvious, sarcastic is obvious.

This is somewhat unrelated…

But I hope the huge Elephant-like thing in the last screenshot is a MM vehicle.

cough cough RECRUIT HELMET… cough

I beleive that the guyon the right, closer to the Chief, is a marine. All Spartans have their faces entirely covered by their helmets, but you can see his skin. Also, he has the chin strap that marine helmets have had in the past. The other two would be spartans though, I beleive.

Those are Recruit S-IVs
