Semi-Auto shotgun that shoots spikes. Much lower damage than the Shotgun, but slightly increased range.
Blam Cannon
Blamite lock-on weapon that fires a huge barrage of needles at the enemy, supercombining for the kill if they all hit. Does damage against vehicles as well.
Combat Rifle
Human rifle with a burst/full auto switch. 5 shot burst where the first shot is perfectly accurate, and the rest go a little wide. Headshot capable in burst mode. For use as a mid-range headshot capable weapon. Full auto is a less-powerful assault rifle. Good starter weapon.
Plasma Condenser
Lobs globs of white-hot plasma that stay on the ground for a few seconds before popping with a little explosion. If the user steps on them, they take damage. If they directly impact the player, they are slowed for a few seconds, and take damage.
A kinder person might refer to “redundancy” as “choice”.
As for your suggestions: no player should be slowed or pushed backwards simply as a result of being hit; doing so robs them of the chance to mount a proper counterattack, and, given players of comparable skill, would result in the player who shoots first becoming victorious every time. As for the bullet bleed-through and the needle supercombine: do we not already have these things in the game?
@^ Stun and Knockback have been in Halo before. All I am proposing is that we give different weapon types different effects so that the plasma rifle, spiker and assault rifle could feel a bit different even though they are all scopeless automatic weapons.
oh i got one a gun that shoots out little midget spartans who run around and kill everything. or or or better yet a gun that shoots buildings and cover.

The fact that they’ve featured in the series before doesn’t make them good ideas. And as for how each scopeless automatic weapon can be made to feel different, here are some ideas off the top of my head:
Plasma does more damage to shields than do bullets;
Bullets do more damage to flesh than does plasma;
Different rates of fire;
Different reload times;
Different damage amounts;
Different clip size;
Different availabilities on each map;
Different accuracies/spread;
Different effectiveness at different distances;
Dual-wieldable versus single-wieldable.
There is a vast potential for variation without adding effects that impair people’s ability to fight back.
@^ All of the properties you have listed can be varied in addition to each weapon type’s unique effect. None of the effects listed prevent a player from fighting back.
Syllipsis I feel you are missing the point of this thread.
I do not believe coldFUSION created this with the intent of remaking the weapon sandbox but instead just for the interest of ideas.
That said ever since Halo 2 I imagined a Brute sniper rifle. A big clunky ole thing shooting a 3inch thick spike.

Actually, I was critiquing the ideas of Plasma Stun and Spike Knockback, which I believe is wholly relevant to this thread. Oh, and I might as well point out in advance that “critiquing” is not synonymous with “criticising”.
> I’m not seeing how your post body has anything to do with your title.
Instead of the spiker and plasma rifle being reskinned assault rifles I would have given them each a unique effect to distinguish themselves from the other scopeless automatic weapons in the game. Do you feel that the spiker and plasma rifle are significantly different than the assault rifle?

Weapons need to be more effective, and there needs to be more of them! I want the choice of Plasma Rifle, Brute Plasma Rifle, or Plasma Repeater, thanks. I also want the choice of Needler, Needle Rifle, or Carbine.
