Please make warthog gunner kills count as assist, not just a wheel-man medal

It looks like i have 10 kills and one assist when actually i have 10 kills and 25 assist -

I completely agree. They should definitely count as assists in the warzone stats.

now if you bump them (without killing) and the gunner finishes them off that is an assist

now this is vague but it is implied and an unwritten rule that you do some sort of damage to the opponent
at least there’s a commendation for wheelman

I’m not an amazing gunner but i can’t tell you how many times I’ve missed kills because the driver parks in a bad spot or just doesn’t care. If the gunner has no targets or no line to shoot the target then there’s no kill. The driver has to assist in that department. Technically, that is assisting in achieving a kill.
I think if they showed medals somewhere then it would be better, I think you should be able to look and see how many of each medal you have earned somewhere in the actual game. Like a medal library, along with recent games and what medals you got in them.
I agree. You can assist medals from helping in kill the A.I. I think being a wheelman is just as important and isn’t a stretch.

maybe not a holster, but if you had a scope that put you in the right place to line up a kill, while still keeping you safe while people are shooting at you so that you could get a kill. then it should be a little more in the grey area. Its not that clear cut, i feel that divers do assist gunners in kills. By keeping them alive and getting the angle right to be able to make the kill.

Assist commendation is easy enough to get already! I already completed level 5 by playing something around 50 matches maybe
Get 2 splatters then your K/D will even out lol

That’s dense as hell. The gunner is only in a position to get a kill because the driver put him there. How is that not assisting in the kill?
Being able to keep your gunner out of danger and giving good line of sight is definitely a kill assist. Good drivers are hard to come by, and it’s unfortunate that the game penalizes them on the leader board by not giving any recognition for their efforts. At the end of the game no one is looking at your commendations. They’re looking at your KDA.
I agree 100% ive always been the driver amoungst my friends and it badly affects me on the leaderboard
Amazing drivers help amazing gunners. I agree the driver is helping a lot. Gets you out of harms way when you are in trouble and makes a sweet charge to let you get a streak. I have been on both sides and as a gunner I think the driver deserves the assist. As a driver I would want that too if I am doing my job correctly.
I completely agree. The driver should earn an assist for each kill the gunner makes. In fact I was playing BTB with my friend and he was upset that he wasn’t earning assist for my kills when I was on the turret.

I agree. But I think OP is talking about scoring not the medal.
Like I ended the game with personal score of 100 points. So look like I didn’t do anything the whole game.
I remember having a 19 Kill streak as a gunner for Halo 4. My driver made more amazing moves than I did. The ability to keep that warthog going at all times and going smoothly is a cherished skill. He absolutely deserved every assist for recognizing the field of play and taking me to spots where we are both successful.
That would be nice - like others have said a good driver is worth a million bucks and deserves more recognition. Try driving a hog solo and switching to the gun each time you want to shoot, see how long you last. You’ll be headshot out of there after one, maybe two kills if you’re lucky. A truly good driver and gunner combo can drive around wreaking havoc for a long time, it’s only fair the driver gets some assists out of it.
Also, prioritizing splatters over keeping your gunner in the right place will get you killed 9/10 times, and giving the driver assists will make people less desperate to drive their hog into a bad spot just for a slightly better KDA. If all you want is splatters you should have Req’d a Ghost or Scouthog (which is still fun VRRRRRRRRRRRR).
