did I read that correctly? there will be gun skins in H4? sweet! I don’t think there will be nearly as much variety as GOW, but honestly that is good. I don’t want GOW gun skins in Halo, it would just be a joke. But wouldn’t it be cool if they had some animated gun skins? I suppose it could be but I think simplicity with creativity is key here. PS is there a pic of gun skins anywhere?
There aren’t any pictures yet. I agree that they shouldn’t be like Gears’ weapon skins. It just wouldn’t work in Halo. It shouldn’t be too outrageous, but it should be noticeable. I don’t want animated ones, though, just because they’re fancy enough that we would probably have to buy them (like Gears). I’m really interested to see what they look like.
As long as they don’t grant bonuses to weapon damage, fire rate, or some other kind of advantage, i don’t really mind the inclusion of weapon skins.
It’s not a feature that’s important or needed but neither is it gamebreaking or horrible.
Im hoping they are somewhat subtle, such as say some green markings to match green armour, red to match red armour ect and some camo paterns. Although is would be great if we could also older (or just altered) versions of weapon skins, for instance you could have the reach AR, or the halo 2 BR ect, the more customization the better.

That actually sounds pretty cool. Don’t ask me why, but I still love the boxier AR from CE compared to the other AR models. It would be awesome if I could have something like that in Halo 4.
It’d probably be a lot of work for a useless feature, but it’d still be really cool.

Yeah I love it too, seemed so weighty and rugged. It’s too bad it looks like we are yet again back to 30 rounds for it though, I loved running into a room and hosing everything in sight without needed to reload all of the time, damn I miss the CE AR.
I am hoping for forunner weapon skins that give human weapons the signature blue and silver we have come to know and love maybe even add some forunners glyphs to them as well i think it would be sweet.
And no we have not seen any of them yet.
I want them to be hardly noticeable. I don’t like the idea of weapon skins in Halo.
I hope no animated skins. Just straight up colors. Maybe two color combo. But animated…I’m not a fan of. The gears ones weren’t that great except the liquid metal ones
I hope they’re subtle and actually somewhat practical with different camo finishes (jungle, desert, arctic), nothing crazy or fancy, no gold or chrome please, come on now. Maybe a Forerunner skin with some gray and blue but nothing more crazy than that.
As long as its just for looks and adds or takes nothing from the gun im 100% ok with this …
And I cant wait to see more from E3
it seems that we are all in agreement that the gun skins should be subtle, personally I don’t want too subtle though because then it is really not a big deal at all and I wouldn’t care about it. And we all seem to agree no animated skins and skins should not have effects. 343 I hope you are listening
I like it, It will add some personal customization, but will keep the simplicity.
I think it should be like this:
[/li]- Primary Color.
- Secondary Color.
- Pattern.(Subtle variants)
- Effect. (More dust/scratches ect.)
But I’d be totally cool with just Primary/Secondary or just Secondary.
I want a Sgt Johnson themed gun that says “This is what a real man looks like” on the side
