Gun mods.... as pickups?

This is just an idea so be open minded here. I hate Reach and AAs but this is how I would imagine gun mods in Halo.

Now look at it this way, H3 equipment were balanced and rightly fought over at various locations on H3 maps. So why not gun mods? Check it, they would be located strategically across H4 maps and would attach and modify your weapon on pick up. Things such as a silencer, different scopes with different magnifications, mods that alternate firing modes etc.

Like I said just an idea, discuss.

It would be kind of complicated trying to balence weapons, mods, powerups, vehicles all at once

Personally I don’t like it. Sounds vary unbalanced and will probably make the game just full of people getting really cheap kills.

Honestly, I don’t like the idea. It just does nothing for me. If your talking about iron sights and COD stuff, I have a strong feeling you will not be supported. However that’s not to say I wouldn’t like weapons that already come with a silencer like ODST’s MSG and pistol.

Naw never iron sights or ADS, just pick ups that modify your weapon. I noticed some people want alternate firing modes and the silenced SMG so this would be answer to that. Or fighting over a higher magnification scope would be genuine. Everything in Halo should be equal and neutrally fought over. Winner gets the advantage of map control and all the things that entails such as, power ups, power weapons, vehicles, highground and why not gun mods. But yeah just something my mind cooked up.

I theorized about this stuff my self , I think it would be AMAZING for custom games and would add alot of depth to infection games. Also imagine what it would do for an RPG. I think it would be a neat little feature and would be great for Halo 4 to enhance the diversity of maps and increase replay value.

being able to mod halos guns would be copying modernwarefare and COD and i dont think any true halo fan would want halo to turn out like that.

I like the “swap” system currently featured in Halo. It lets me change the weapon I’m holding into any other weapon as long as I’m within distance.

With a system like this I can “swap” my pistol for a sniper rifle for long range engagements and then “swap” back once I’m done.

Pretty intuitive right?

i’d really like to shoot a silenced BR / DMR / Pistol / SMG, however :smiley:

maybe they could just give us silenced versions of all the human bullet-based weapons. tha’d be SICK!

If they do it, you should just be able to change weapons forge/ game ops

I really hope gun mods are exclusive to campaign where it can be fun since people won’t try to be overpowered about it.
