Hey so I’ve been playing halo Infinite since the second flight and what I have noticed that has really bugged me. When I get into a fight with another player online I will basically get to the point of trading with them but my shots that I fired directly before I die will disappear because I died while shooting them, the will vanish into thin air, I thought Mabye at first it was just not counting the last shot or something until I had rockets and I’d fire the rocket launcher just before dying and you could hear it being fired and then in that moment of dying nothing happens. I haven’t been recording it but if you guys need evidence I can start recording it.
I gave had tons and tons of clips of this happening, it’s latency/netcode/lag and it’s almost whenever I play with PC players.
I cannot tell you the sheer amount of times I’ve punched someone and it’s done nothing. I get a hit marker, and a noise, so wtf 343i?
Fix the game
Edit: I test my internet often and it isn’t my internets fault, everyone I play I play on xbox One has this issue.
On Xbox series x and have this problem against pc as well.
I’ve shot rockets and thrown nades and even melee’d WITH AUDIO and they were deleted.
but my shots that I fired directly before I die will disappear because I died while shooting them
This is because on the server side, you never actually fired the shot. You were already dead fractions of a second before you hit the fire button. Welcome to online gaming.
You mean modern online gaming. Classic Halo didn’t have this issue near as bad as seemingly EVERY modern game. Games used to actually work back then too, so…
You mean Halo Combat Evolved that wasn’t online and literally only local? lol
Unless you’re claiming that the online version of CE didn’t have this problem, at which point I’m gonna say you’re full of it.
I don’t get why people on this forums have to make everything a huge argument. This isn’t a measuring contest. I said this wasn’t AS MUCH of an issue in older games, halo or not.
Been online gaming since I was 2 I’m 21 and have never had this issue and I’m clearly firing my gun before I die because the game is registering it. I saw my rocket disappear literally before killing the enemy. And if it is the servers then it’s obviously something they need to fix
As a father of a two year old, I can’t help but laugh at this statement. If you said 4, then ok maybe, but 2?
So you couldn’t use the controller properly, yet you still were online gaming? Okay.
Like I said, I can believe 4, but I refuse to believe 2.
I think that his parents give him the controller that wasn’t plugged.

Don’t tell him, all his child skills was a lie.

I’ve noticed grenades that I’ve thrown have vanished when I die as well. Dynamo grenades that were active immediately before I die will disappear. I’ve seen plasma grenades that I’ve stuck to vehicles and/or players just glow and fade away without detonating after I die.
Welcome to hit registration calculations on a server side with horrible ping issues. The frame you are seen as dead on their end, is the frame your inputs are ignored, so your hammer, melee, rocket, bullets, and grenades, they all vanish, because to the server, you are dead and didn’t do those. Really ruins tons of “From The Grave” medals I would be getting in previous Halo games.
Yeah I think it’s a slight discrepancy of sound vs. actual in-game object generation. The same happens if you try to throw a grenade right as you die; you’ll hear the sound but no grenade is thrown. Personally I actually like that (getting grenades by a dying enemy all the time is really annoying, imo), but the sound making you think it should’ve worked is frustrating.
Been online gaming since I was 2 I’m 21 and have never had this issue
Good thing this is irrelevant
and I’m clearly firing my gun before I die because the game is registering it.
That is because your client isn’t going to wait for the server to give it the green light before shooting the bullet.
I saw my rocket disappear literally before killing the enemy
Because your client fired the rocket milliseconds after you were actually dead according to the server. Then when the server gave your client an update on what happened, the rocket vanished because it was never actually fired.
And if it is the servers then it’s obviously something they need to fix
All they have to do is invent a system that has 0 ping by having the information travel instantly across the planet.
its like this all the time, you kill someone they have a full second before it registers. The game is bad. Theyre already deleting threads about the cheating
how can I tell when I´m playing against pc?
I’ve never seen a full second pass before a death registers. Maybe check your ping? Because that sounds insane.
Theyre already deleting threads about the cheating
I mean are they threads that spread exploits? Because I could see them deleting that to prevent other players from doing it before a fix goes in.
lol. 3ms totally has to be my ping.
