I have been playing a lot of Halo Infinite on both PC and Xbox Series X with both gamepad and mouse and keyboard. I’ve been surprised how many times I’ve emptied entire clips of BR, or AR ammo at people without killing them. Other times they die quickly. The damage and feel just seems so inconsistent and it has been incredibly frustrating. It’s not even about aim assist to me, I’ve used both gamepad and M&K with the same frustration. More it’s that the guns themselves feel random and weak. Many of the close quarters guns feel borderline useless.
For the record I usually hit about 40% to 45% accuracy and I’m not a pro. I know I miss shots and can get better but at the same time I can hold my own in previous Halo games. This experience so far has been more frustrating than anything though. There have been so many encounters where I’m dumping bullets into people with no result and it has just worn me out.

BLOOMMMMM
Seriously, I think the huge weapon bloom is the main problem here. Sometimes I genuinely can’t tell if I am missing my shots (skill) or if I am just getting bad bloom (luck).

Yeah, I know it’s possible for me to shoot better but man it’s still way more frustrating than I think it should be.
Aimming in this game is bad and absolutely needs to be re worked hands down. That being said, as mentioned by the OP there is definitely something going on with the damage as well this was not so the case in the test preview so I don’t know what they have changed but I’ve emptied two AR mags and two elbows into someone and they didn’t even drop shields and no they didnt have OS. Then I’ve shot someone twice with the sidekick and they died. I’ve been one shot by an AR already as well. This confirms my fear that this game needs more work. Dec 8th is going to have to bring forth a huge update or this is not looking great.

Yeah, I don’t recall the same inconsistency in the test flights.
