Gun Balance Favouring Auto

Currently as it stands. I am Loving this game to bits. But when playing I feel precison play is a little less favoured considering how many gameplay elements support using the assault riffle. I think a slight nerf to the AR would allow the BR and Sidearm to feel a little more in place. Also if the Nade Spam was turned down a tad it would help a little in this area. And if there would be an option or other modes at launch for BR starts that would be legendary.

Overall I am loving this beta. The BTB is going to be even better. Just with no DMR in sight it looks to be a very auto heavy meta. Would love to hear if I am alone on this or not.

agreed. I’m all for autos being stronger than the BB guns they were in older games, but the pinpoint accuracy and ranged damage of the AR makes it a viable mid range contender against actual precision weapons. my shields are getting dropped in a second by this thing across the map.

And with the descope mechanic, it just means that consistent fire of something as accurate as the AR the overall balance shifts towards spray for headshots rather then precison shots. Really feel like with a slight nerf to the AR and needle then the TTK will feel a little nicer. Such a small thing that 343 will 100% have the data to make the right call on.

I agree. The game right now has so many automatic weapons to pick up on each map and the assault rifle is overpowered. I hope btb is br starts. The sidekick will be useless in btb. I don’t see how no br starts in btb would be fun. I personally don’t like to use autos all of the time.

The AR is definitely the all purpose weapon in this game. Other than the BR, the assault rifle wins out on most fights.
the pistol needs to have the aim assist or bullet magnetism increased a bit. If you miss a shot with the pistol then you will lose to the AR at any range. Ridiculous.

Personally I hate automatic gun play, so I’m definitely biased in my view. But I’ll quickly be bored of a AR dominated game.

The pistol feels too weak they need to rebalance some of these weapons plasma weapons are terrible. Games awesome but too many times do enemies get away after a full clip.

All of these changes feel easy to fix. Slight number changes and then the gunplay is genuinely amazing. I think they have gone seriously hard away from bullet magnetism and I think a slight tilt back towards a halo 5 system will make it that little bit smoother. Along with the Sniper also seeing this change. All these elements are really fun but just need that extra polish.
