Will Guilty Spark make an apperance in H4? I need some revenge for him killing my boy St. Johnson.
…you kinda did that with Johnsons Spartan Laser. He’s already dead…
Guilty Spark is dead, and you could make the case that he couldn’t even control himself because of the rampancy.
I’m very bad with this subject but I THINK there’s some of Guilty Sparks memories alive OR there’s 2 Guilty Sparks. I know “DecepticonCobra” is good with this stuff so you should ask him.
> I’m very bad with this subject but I THINK there’s some of Guilty Sparks memories alive OR there’s 2 Guilty Sparks. I know “DecepticonCobra” is good with this stuff so you should ask him.
The Guilty Spark seen in the Bungie games was in fact based on a human known as Chakas (featured in the Forerunner Saga). Sometime after the war, an ONI science team found a damaged monitor that contained the mind of Chakas and several ancient human warriors (who had been placed in Chakas by the Librarian).
100,000 years prior, Chakas was badly hurt, and to save him, the Didact transferred Chakas’ mind (and thus the minds of the Ancient Humans inside Chakas) into a Monitor. This Monitor was used as a basis for Guilty Spark, and supposedly several other duplicates.
I hope this explains it. It’s hard to summarize the events of Halo: Primordium into 2 paragraphs.
So anyway, all this means that we could face Spark again, but it won’t be the version of him that we knew from Installation 04 and the original Halo trilogy.

So like Church from Red Versus Blue?
More evidence is that Tim Dadabo narates halo primordium. I could easily ask Tim Dadabo, but he would not tell me so… Tim Dadabo is good at keeping secrets it seems!
But the nature of the relationship betwen Chakas/04-343 Guilty spark/the monitor found in Primordium is not exactly clear, one thing is for sure: They are related somehow, all come from Chakas the human in some way or form.

That’s actually a very good analogy. The only difference would be if Epsilon (the fragment) were around first and Alpha (the original) had replaced him later.

One thing you can be sure of is that the Chakas monitor is not a duplicate of Guilty Spark (as Halopedia keeps claiming…).
The whole Guilty Spark/Chakas debate can go either way. I’ve heard many different sides each with valid points. The fact is that we just don’t have enough information on it to be 100% accurate. Hopefully Silentium can clear this up.

There’s really one 1 way it can go. The Chakas monitor in Primordium was only aware of Guilty Spark’s actions by checking ONI’s onboard records. Beyond that, he had no knowledge of Spark’s actions.
We all know some washed up, floating, has-been son of a -Yoink- lightbulb with a -Yoinked!- up personality can’t kill our man Sarge so easily.
Johnson’s shown tenure of a legend! He’s survived an explosion by hugging. He cheated Death by earning the Flood’s favor (Flood choose who to infect, possibly even in the Feral state). Why, he’s shrouded in mystery if you haven’t read the books! “Sorry Guns, classified.” Unless of course, he really is impervious to the Flood and Halo. Then he’s unstoppable!
Flood didn’t kill him. 3 of God’s own anti-son-of-a–Yoink- machines didn’t kill him. Covies didn’t kill him. Innies didn’t kill him.
What killed him was a heavily scripted event and I simply refuse to recognize it as canon. Some reports say that Arby and Chief managed to resuscitate him and bring him to the FuD in his hog. Others say that he got infected by Flood infection forms. Johnson’s death is a mysterious one. It’s not as obvious as people would like to think.
He’s not dead whatsoever and will make a return in the Reclaimer saga.
“Miss me Chief?”
And when he does, I will bring him on the greatest journey like I’ve done with the Goldie on Two Betrayals, the Zealot on TotS, the Councilors on Great Journey, and Arbiter on The Ark.
amirite marines?
Spoiler Alert:
In Halo Primordium 343 Guilty Spark takes over the ship in the book, and therefore he must be making a return. 343i did say these books would have direct ties into halo 4.

Johnson survived the flood because of a weird illness caused by plasma grenade radiation. Normally fatal he refused treatment, got lucky and survived anyways (like a boss), and it left him inedible to flood somehow. He had dead flood DNA in his body, so it had tried to infect him, but whatever that radiation did to him killed the infection form. So they didnt just choose not to infect him. I just felt like being a stickler on this for some reason. Johnson got a big beam that ripped through him, chief wouldnt have left him behind unless he was dead or good as dead.
Its confirmed that johnson wont be in halo 4 so he definitely isnt on the Chief’s half of the ship, and Johnson was photographed as a casualty on the memorial in halo 3 so he wasnt on Arby’s half either. Sorry bud, Johnson is dead.
Actually, he’s a Spartan I.
Anyways, I wasn’t even being serious (except for the part where I said I refused to accept the execution of Johnson’s death). That “boss battle” should have been just a cutscene. Would have been much more believable than being able to obtain a laser earlier than usual yet not being able to hit 343 Guilty Spark until Johnson does. Also, it’s possible to kill Johnson before the cutscene and have him infected by the Flood.
Severely immersion breaking. Johnson does not deserve this. He should have been made invincible like in H2. The aforementioned easter egg should have been obtained through other means (i.e. doing something after killing the Flood outside to make Johnson lose that invincibility).

Thanks! Really helped.

As stated by the guy after you, This was a cover-up for him being a Spartan I. Well documented.
> …you kinda did that with Johnsons Spartan Laser. He’s already dead…
This. If you played the game, you’d see Spark killing Johnson, that you grab his Spartan Laser and kill Spark in retaliation. I sincerely doubt he has a backup, so he’s gone.

He was invincible in Halo 2 for gameplay reasonds, given that he was an actual character rather than another CO skin like in Halo: CE. He died in Halo 3 because Spark went nuts and Johnson is only human, and therefore capable of dying. Even if he was a SPARTAN-I.
He’d dead. Deal with it and move on. Most likely, he’ll be replaced by Sgt. Stacker, or, if we’re lucky, Buck. Or an entirely new character. I’m hoping for Buck.
I will give you a hint, read primordium
Sheesh, is everyone around here non-serious?
- Yes, I know he’s dead.
- I don’t mind him dying. I don’t like the circumstances around his death. It wasn’t treated very seriously. Lame boss battle, inconsistencies, and I’m expected to accept the ending cutscene and believe it. No way.
The whole thing should have been a cutscene. I had no pleasure killing Guilty Spark and I never felt like I was avenging Guilty Spark.
Another thing to note: Guilty Spark’s team (Sentinels, Auto-Turrets) turn on you after the Gravemind moment. So someone who was playing it for the first time and decided to bring in an Auto-Turret and deploy it in advance would be spoiled.
H3’s last level was executed as horribly as a Reach mission, perhaps even worse. I knew Bungie had deviated from the Halo path when they first chose to implement the backward missions (Two Betrayals, Keyes, The Maw). The worst of these is The Maw. Explosions and a ridiculous hog run. The precursor to H3 campaign.
I sincerely hope 343 doesn’t just focus on H3’s epic feel. All Halo games have an epic feel in their own way. H3’s feel is overrated.
