♥ Guide/Discussion on Email Codes - Halo 4 ♥

Edit: Everything in this thread is no longer valid, or contributes to anything. Please look somewhere else for help. Sorry, but Microsoft/343 do not care. “we will email you in 24-72 hours”…thanks… like a code that everyone should have is worth that much…and thanks Windows Update for constantly destroying my PC…and Microsoft’s tech support which went like this “have you tried plugging your phone in?” “well my conclusion is your computer is broken”…bad service…= bad company… stop hiring foreigners, start caring about players.

Read This before Posting:

Emails are still being sent.(Xbox Live Customer Support)
Why? Think of how many millions had to be sent, and how long it must have taken to send all these emails to so many email accounts.

The email will be sent to the BILLING EMAIL ADDRESS, not your Xbox Live account or your Xbox Live linked account.

How do I find out what my email is? Middle Button on your Xbox Controller -> Right -> Right -> Account Management -> Right -> Right -> Billing Information. (There will be an option with an email account, that is the email account that will be sent the code)

Will you get an email?
Yes, if you played before November 20th, 2012.

What if I changed my email?
They took the emails on November 20th to use for this promotion, if you changed it now, the email will still be sent to the old address.

What if my email is no longer valid?
You will likely have to wait a few days, and then contact customer support for an additional code.

Please do not spam customer support over this issue, there’s nothing they can do at the moment except tell you to:

PLEASE REMAIN CALM
(ODST reference)

If you can not, than click http://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us to be sent directly to customer support. (Online Chat Support 24/7 Faster than calling)

What does this code do?
You will unlock all 6 Specializations to use at any time after level 50, raising your level cap to 130 I believe…

[Please Give the OP a break, and sticky this so people have an idea of what’s going on, it’s not 343’s fault, the emails were verified and sent, Microsoft is just having a slow time sending them] (MILLIONS OF EMAILS)

[Final Note] It’s nothing special, just wait a few days to a week. You will then receive your code, or receive it through customer care. 343 is a good company.

Halo 4 > Reach…thank you…my love for Halo has returned.

Here’s what you need to have done already to receive an email:

  1. Purchase Halo 4 and play while connected to Xbox Live before Nov 20th
  2. Any email returned as “nondeliverable will not be re-sent
  3. Limit: 1 code per gamertag.
  4. Xbox Live Gold Membership Required to play online.
  5. Offer available to users 17 years of age and older
  6. Must live in one of these countries: United States, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and India.

343 is not a good company, they are a new company.

solve the problem through xbox website
https://live.xbox.com
STEP 1-sign in with your accounts email

STEP 2-my account link right next to where ur gamertag shows up in the top right corner

STEP 3-click on the billing contact information link goto the email that shows up here it may be different then the one that your account is attached to

hopefully this solves your issue if not please be patient and post here https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst155922_The-Official-Specializations-Email-Thread.aspx

the color hurts my eye if it was all one color it would be better guide but thank you posting it will help with all the angry post hopefully

> the color hurts my eye if it was all one color it would be better guide but thank you posting it will help with all the angry post hopefully

Thank you! That is the secondary way of doing it. I explained it through the Xbox Live menu via Xbox 360, which I find the easiest for most people as I for one have rarely used Xbox.com.

It’s almost Christmas!

> 343 is not a good company, they are a new company.

They have been around since 2007, 5 years ago. That is not “new” in my honest opinion.

They also helped to make: Halo Waypoint, Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

Link for more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/343_Industries

They started out as the Microsoft “branch” of Bungie.

Bungie moved, and has been secretly working on a project for many years now. + They hired a ton of people! Bungie had been under a contract, and split from Microsoft after Reach.

Look at them now, they have a good track record as a helping factor for games and services. They cant handle being their own company, In 2 days they have literally pissed of half of their player.

so what do i do if I haven’t received the email.

Thank you for the help

Are you positive that it’s the email under billing information, and not the email under contact info? I wasn’t aware that they were two different emails, and I deleted my contact email a year ago.

Hey OP, I’m sorry to disappoint, but I just got off a long chat with Xbox Support.
All emails have been sent, and if you haven’t gotten it, you’re SOL.

Unless someone can disprove this and show that Xbox Support just wants to get rid of us, then they aren’t sending out anymore codes.

And people… stop posting your emails associated with your account… you’re just putting that out there for hackers.

> Look at them now, they have a good track record as a helping factor for games and services. They cant handle being their own company, In 2 days they have literally pissed of half of their player.

Just the kids without patience…

Patience is a virtue. For example…anyone who bought Halo 4 for $60-$70 standard did not have patience. I bought from Newegg for $48…got it the day after release. Same with Black Ops 2.

The Microsoft Store even offered a $25 giftcard I believe.
Little tip: Everything purchased online is tax free, and typically s/h free, Amazon used to give $20 Gift Cards on top of free release date delivery. Once I matured, I never purchased a game for over $50 again, and typically purchase the leading games and devices for under $20. Steam sells PC games for a fraction of the cost of the same 360 games during their sales. Example: Bought Age of Empires 3 Complete, Awesomenauts, Legend of Grimrock, Ravaged, and the Witcher 2, for the price of a map pack…

I really hope that all the codes haven’t been sent out, 343 would really -Yoink- pretty much all of the players they have. I really lost all my respect for them as a company as of tonight. It’s really sad that they promised us something like this then lied to our faces and didnt send codes to half of us.

This isn’t an issue about how much you saved. Its about a company we all thought we would love screwing us over.

> This isn’t an issue about how much you saved. Its about a company we all thought we would love screwing us over.

No one screwed you over…just go to sleep for a few days.

Customer Support will issue codes to those who did not receive them in 2-6 days.

Trust me, they do not like being bombed by children.

They’ve been sent out, not all delivered.

Fairly positive…I also had the same concern…the email under contact has been deleted, and the email under billing is still active (and is the email promotions are sent to)

Edit: Then I’m curious as to why I didn’t receive it if they were all already sent out

> so what do i do if I haven’t received the email.

Simple wait. Forget about it for a day or two. Then complain. No one’s going to listen to you now. (Thousands are spamming the forums, and customer support, all day long)

> Thank you for the help

Thank you for being the first one to acknowledge that I’m doing this just to help.

Not only the community, but 343, and Microsoft…they need to learn how keep the community calm.
