This needs to go please. Guests should be allowed in Forge, Customs, non-mm FF, and Campaign only. IF the folks with a guest on pull host, it’s monstrously unfair to everyone else and throws everything off badly. Black screens, ghosting, 13 headshots to kill in Swat, cats and dogs living together. It’s horrible.

An alternative is to double up the lists and make the same lists on non-competitive. That’s probably the easier fix and it’s what was done in H3. H3 really had a lot of good stuff. I don’t know why reach has taken such a different direction.

That being said, and the bottom line of this post, is there don’t need to be any guests allowed to play on competitive lists.

Halo has always been a very social game, and guests are naturally part of the social experience. A lot of games that are less tactical than Halo restrict guests. For instance, my friend that loves Modern Warfare 2 comes over. If he wanted to play that, we’d have to take turns. Then with three or four people…it’s not fun. If people in the same house want to play a video game online together, they should not be disallowed from doing that. Especially because now more than ever, video games are becoming a family thing.

That is why there should be a Ranking playlist, and a Social playlist, like in halo 3.
