In Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, whenever you played with a guest, they would always have default armor, and nothing more. But I was thinking, what if the guest had all the same armor of the account that it is being a guest of? Like if I have 100% armory completion, then so does my guest?
I think it would be good for Machinima, and it would allow your friends to customize their Spartan. However, I could understand if 343i skipped this idea, since they would want people to buy their own Xbox Live accounts, using armor customization as a motivation.
I would say no, for multiple reasons. 1) It just won’t happen (becuase Microsoft wants people to buy accounts) and 2) It’s fun to make fun of guests. Yes I went there.
Also consider that we’re not just customizing our armor, we are actually changing are loadouts and stuff. I would hope that a guest would have as much options as a defualt player would, because otherwise it will be plain unfair to be play as one.
I wouldn’t mind, however, if the guest had some options (like Halo 3–he could choose between two sets, mixing and matching along the way) and if (although it doesn’t look like there will be any) the guest had access to items that were pre-order bonuses on that console (like Recon, flaming head, etc).
I hate to say this, but I think it should work how BO’s guest system worked. Instead he should start from the first rank and level up. But next time the guest logs on he goes back to 0.
I don’t see any reason to not allow guests to customize to what the main player has unlocked, honestly. It’s just visual effects, no big deal overall, why not just carry over the armor.
They should put in an option to report guests, if the guest gets reported say 5 times in one session then both the main XBL account should get banned as well as the guest. The XBL account should then not be able to host guests anymore. I think this would combat troll or n00b guesting much better than the current system which is basically non existent. Staying on topic I say NO to armour customisation for guests, come on getting a free second account is good enough. If you simply wanted armour customisation for machinamas then simply make a free local account on your xbox, no need for guests.

Not only do people abuse the reporting system but there are innocent players out there that could be banned just because they’re jealous a guest got more kills than them.

The ONLY guest I ever saw have a game worth playing was a guest who went 15-2 with an extermination playing Team Snipers on Reflection.
Other than that, every guest I’ve seen (Mostly the Halo 3 ones, Shudders) were complete trash at the game.
Every. Single. One. And most of them get put on my team…
