Guesses at enemies

so i watched the new video for Halo 4 and i heard a developer say we have perfectly good reasons for red spartans to be fighting blue spartans. so that got me thinking. why would anyone ever say a spartan would fight a spartan except in multiplayer. but then i realized another developer said that multiplayer ties in with the campaign but doesnt have the same maps. so what if there are spartans on the giant forerunner planet, and they are in a civil war…you know red vs blue. and then masterchief has to make a moral decision on which side to choose. thats where the player comes in and chooses which side him/herself. that would make sense because of how 343 wants to delve deeper into masterchiefs past. so he has to make a morally right decision with his past life making an impression on his decision. This is purely a guess, and, frankly, i dunno if i want it to be like this. but whatever, if you have any thoughts, post 'em. Thanks!

I don’t like the “choose your side” part, what if there is more reds than blues, and if this were to tie in to match making, it could cause trouble finding enough blue people to go up against the reds.

I dunnno…if it were to tie into matchmaking they would have to have a bigger red team than blue if im following you correctly.

You should add Precursors, as that is what it most likely is.

Sorry… what are precursors?
and how do i edit the poll
im new to this sorry

They were holding the “mantle” and created Forerunners and Humans to pass it to them.
They had faith in Forerunners but decidet against them later on, as they saw Humans better for recieving the mantle, and wanted to eradicate the Forerunners.
In a rebelion, The Forerunners in turn eradicated all Precursors. ( Atleast thats assumed )

And I say Forerunners or Precursors are the new enemy since on the 2nd Forerunner book,
343 States that he knows where the Librarian is, which indicates that not all Forerunners died with the Halo’s activation.

Im guessing the reason for red vs blue is just virtual training. the newly trained spartan IV’s are using virtual reality to help them in combat exp but with no risks. thats also the only way to explain respawning

nevermind i looked up what the precursors were. if they were the enemy then we can suppose the flood might be back, because they supposedly created the flood to mess with the forerunners. ok i get it that makes sense but how do i change the poll if it is possible at all

that also makes sense. they could have a new game mode where if the red team were real and the blue team were the training program the red team wouldnt respawn while blue would… but there would still be team slayer and swat and infection…at least i hope.

My money for the new baddie is on the Cricket People for it only they that could pose a greater danger than we’ve seen before.

Why would you kill your Spartans for the sake of training?
Whats the matter of “training” if you can die and lose all experiacne?
Why go all the trouble creating a spartan to “maybe kill him” in the training process?

I like that! They could even throw in like a mini story to introduce that idea, like AC Brotherhood did with there multiplayer! That’s a good guess!

No no no i mean blue team is like supposed to be like not real spartans. like they are computer programs. they are just trying to train the red ones. you get what i mean?

Yeah but you said “they could have a new game mode where if the red team were real and the blue team were the training program the red team wouldnt respawn while blue would”
But why would you let “real” spartans fight against a Simulation with the possebility to “die”?

not really die…its all a simulation. like a videogame. but this videogame is to train spartans. the real ones put like headsets on and they simulate whats happening. something like that. they wouldnt really die they would just be taken out of the game. they would get hurt either.

I said virtual. And not matrix virtual, you don’t die in real life.
