Does anybody else feel like its a bit overpowered? I won’t lie I am definitely guilty of using it whenever I can but it just seems like if anybody competent gets in it that match is basically over. I’ve experienced multiple games where it is the game changer every time. Now of course I’m not saying it is impossible to beat because I have also been in numerous games where it has but I still think its odd that its almost more of a game changer than the tank in the same map. What do you guys think?
A competent Gauss is perfectly vulnerable to a competent player having a go at it…
… but too often you’re on a team of 8 with 7 incompetent anchors who do nothing other than feed the Gauss kills.
At least ordnance means you might get a Laser or something. While I don’t like ordnance all that much, I don’t think it’s horrible and since the Gauss is at ONE BASE’S SPAWN it’s perfectly valid to -Yoink- it up with a Laser you called in
It is far more of a game changer than the Scorpion though, most definitely. Scorpion barely even gets out of the hangar most games.
It should be on more maps. The standard warthogs gun is so weak.
Yeah I agree. Its not like its impossible but the fact is a lot of the time you have to worry if your other 7 teammates keep feeding it kills by running into the open. So the game can get away from you fast in that scenario.
The problem is you have 1-2 people on an 8 man team who are total anchors and just spawn and hold forward running into the middle of the map and just get wrecked over and over.
It’s really hard to overcome -20+ from one or two players who are feeding the gauss turret all game long.
I was in a game recently where a VERY “competent” player was on the back of the gauss, he ended up with no driver on the bridge by tank side… My team or army of noobs fed him 27 kills without him even having a driver…
I’ll admit I died to it twice but they were just running round firing they’re charged plasmas and getting gaussed in the face…
No attempt was even made to throw stickies as EMPs do nothing to the gunner… ¬.¬
safe to say that we lost I just avoided going round to that side of the map.
I agree with you guys depends on who feeds them the easy -Yoink- kills…
I agree man, I’m guilty of using it myself but something needs to be done about this.
The tank is in a terrible spot and I think it should be moved to the front of red teams base. Why? Because blue team has a chance of getting if they drive a mongoose over there, and if they get in it, then the tank gets destroyed. After that red team is -Yoink- out of luck.
Against a halfway competent red team the Gauss hog shouldn’t be able to do more than a couple of laps. The fact that the Gauss hog exists forces Red into a race for the Scorpion but beyond that it’s not really such a problem. You can spawn with plasma pistol and stickies, there’s plenty of ordnance, and the map layout means there are plenty of places the enemy team can hide and chip away with DMRs if nothing else.
Exile’s current design was perfect for 2 competitive teams.
Obviously, competitive teams playing each other happen 1 in a million times on Halo 4. That’s the issue.
No all things being equal and teams equally competitive the blue team still has the advantage.
