Guardians: Recruit Armor?

To be careful, I’m just going to assume it’s a spin on the Mark V (b) as was the Halo 4 rendition, to a very loose extent.
I like this too, because it also resembles the first-generation variant Mark IV (though there isn’t really a “baseline” prototype).
Your thoughts?

Eh. I miss the old days, when Mark VI was default.

Locke/Marlowe’s armour will probably be the default Spartan armour. I hope we can actually unlock the new Mark VI in Halo 5.

It looks like a combination of multiple armors on closer inspection:

Helmet: Resembles a cross between the Mark VI, and Mark V (b) which again could be based canonically off one another, cannot say for certain anymore.

Visor: Pretty thin, but pleasing visually.

Torso: The chest looks more like the Halo 3 EOD/Mark V. This is a very good thing and adds consistency.

Shoulders: Kind of an SPI or classic flat Epaulets the French worn.

Forearms: Obviously a nod to Halo 2’s “Flyswatter Gauntlets” design for the mark VI

Legs: Latter-Generation mark V indeed. If only I could see the bottom half.

I like it…
It seems much more visually pleasing than the halo 4’s…

The new armor definately appears more bulky and like a traditional spartan. However one thing that bothered me was how in some places like the back and shoulders, the armor seemed a tad bit too bulbous and round.

But overall, it looked better than a lot of the armors in H4 atleast haha

It looks like they’re evolving the armour with a heavy influence from covenant technology. Notice how everything is rounder and more organic looking.

I am going to do an armor study of what is seen in Halo 5, hopefully I can muster up the logic to do it right with as little official knowledge as possible.

Well, from what I can tell, the armour in Halo 5 looks infinitely better than that of Halo 4. No more plethora of needless detail. Just nice, simple, functional-looking armour.

Haven seen nearly enough, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the “recruit” or standard armor is neither the trailer armor nor Lockes.

I must say, though, they seem to have taken a direction from Reach and not H4, thank the precursors!

It actually looks like a “true” Mark IV, what with the Armor-Locking piece on the helmets jowl section…

Though we just got a look at a CGI teaser, the armor (IMO) looks a bit too smooth to the point where it loses that sense of power and heft. Considering the Spartan IV’s aren’t as jacked as II’s I can see why, but then again I think it’s just a bit too much.

I liked the armor from the MCC teaser. I thought the H5 armor looked ugly as hell, they looked like bland football player uniforms.

I sincerely hope that the armor seen in the trailer was just for the trailer. It looks terrible, more like super-ODST armor (in function, not appearance) than Mjolnir.

I hope the armor will take a step in the right direction.
It looks like if will be a cross between halo 3 and 4 but I hope is takes some elements from Reach.

But the most important part: 343 return the cqb helmet in halo 5, it was a great helmet.

I’m going to disagree with you on that trailer armor (atleast the helmet) looked fine to me,
(Warning This is a opinion, do not rage at it) It looks better that Reach’s and Halo 4’s starting helmet.

They look far grittier, and matte textured. Hardly any matte texturing in Halo 4’s armor.

The helmet isn’t too bad, but the overall armor design just looks ugly to me. But, that’s just an opinion
