Guardians could be the best multiplayer

I’ve noticed a lot of dismay surrounding Halo 5. Mostly with multiplayer. I honestly believe halo:5 could be the best multiplayer around if they just changed a few things. Here’s some of my suggestions.

  1. TTK (Time to kill) needs to be enhanced. The biggest complaint I see is that deaths happen far to quickly. Understandably people expect to live longer in the halo franchise because of shields, and previous titles (excluding halo 4) based its combat on who was the better shot. Not who shot first. Although halo 5 is leaps ahead of halo 4 in this regard, it could still be longer or the automatic weapons (SMH, Storm rifle, Assualt rifle, Suppressor) could recieve a dramatic damage reduction. And before anyone says “but bootlegger, halo 5 has the longest TTK of all the halo’s” <— this doesn’t matter. The game is still to fast paced for the amount of shielding required. When short range power weapons lose to automatic weapons. There is an issue.

  2. REQ’s-- excellent idea but could be improved by removing the randomness of it. So many people want specific favorites but never get them. As an example I like energy swords. Bought this game day one and only received (2) ----2---- energy sword’s as Reqs the entire time. I hate warthogs, but have not only gotten every variant of warthog but have gotten the guarantee of every warthog as well. Being able to choose your req would greatly enhance the players experience I believe.

  3. The elephant in the room. I’m sure we all know about the 11,000+ post thread regarding playable elites…sooooo…why has this not already happened? It seems like an obvious fix. And again Before I get the “but bootlegger, the hit boxes are funky” ----doesn’t matter.— Warzone has all sorts of AI with said funky hit boxes and Warzone is not competitive.

Honestly these are the only issues I really see in Halo 5. If these were addressed then Halo 5 could possibly be the best halo multiplayer experience created.

Note: I am open to other suggestions or modifications to my ideas. Open argumentation or non relevant posts such as (these are terrible ideas) without any support will not receive a response.

Thank you.

  1. The TTK feels a tiny bit fast but it’s really not that big of a deal. They had to make it faster because they keep insisting on giving players tools to escape death like sprint and thrusters.
  2. Reqs are a terrible idea. If you remove the RNG element of it you just have Reach’s Armory which was a vastly superior and less annoying system where players got what they wanted by saving up for it instead of spending points like crack addicts on packs with their fingers crossed.
  3. No.

As a long time halo fan I’m really loving the multiplayer of this game, its really smooth, and really fast paced, aside from the lack of modes I really don’t have an issue with the game, I don’t really mind req packs but I know a lot of people hate them and there RNG aspect but I don’t let that ruin how much fun I have when playin the game, both warzone and arena I have a blast. I do wish that they had Reach’s credits system over the req pack system but it’s nothing I’ll loose sleep over.
Im sure I’ll never leave the game once more game modes get added, more specifically infection. Once the mode gets added it’ll more then likely be my main gametype… Oh and when the better fileshare feature gets added then I’ll be perfectly happy with this game :3

  1. The extreme lack of gametypes
  1. General TTK is fine, it’s the aiming mechanics that need to change. Automatics could use tweaking but that’s a separate topic. Controller aim is wonky as hell and aim assist is too high. The first thing a shooter needs to get right is the shooting itself.

  2. REQ system does need a giant overhaul.

  3. My opinion: Silly, pointless nonsense. I stopped caring about playing as an elite by the time I left freshman year. I don’t even see what the appeal is anymore now that they’ve been largely shoved into the background of the Halo universe. I can guarantee that people aren’t leaving the game in droves just because elites are gone. If 343I wants to waste their time incorporating elites into Warzone or some other niche gamemode they can be my guest, but I think it’s just the most pointless thing to complain about with all the other, much more grave problems that Halo is currently facing. Elites aren’t going to make this game better, serious fixes are going to make this game better.

TTK is good. I don’t want to see any changes.
Working towards REQ’s WOULD be nice because I have commendations I literally cannot work on.

Elites would be awesome. With their dodge instead of thrusters like in Reach. And loadout with plasma rifles/grenades and I guess needlers? Loadout would be tricky to balance…

Oh and let’s forget Overgrowth ever happened as a map.

OH and keep doubles as a ranked playlist, Jesus butt F Christ why would they take it away? Epic fail 343…

However, This faster TTK does hinder smaller arena maps. Specifically those with close quarter “power weapons” that pale against a storm rifle.

It’s certiantly the smoothest I’ve played.

the REQ system certaintly does not ruin my enjoyment at all. I still love the game. But like people you know I to dislike the randomness of it.

added game modes sounds great. Infection was a classic.

Fair enough on the TTK. I suppose it preferance. I prefer longer TTK especially in small arena maps. But I can see the disadvantage of it on big maps since Spartans can sprint and thruster.

Dodge Roll would be sweet. I’d imagine just giving them he same weapons though. Seeing as all covenant weapons are enhanced now.

But I like overgrowth lol. It’s not a forge map and has corners and blind spots that truth and regret doesn’t have. And is far less grenade spam friendly.

Im seeing a theme here of game types needing to be added.

  1. I do agree auto aim is a bit high. I can’t say I’ve had much trouble with any other aiming mechanic though. what is the deal with the aiming?

  2. It was a good idea. But I agree it needs work. Not sure if an entire overhaul is necessary though lol.

  3. I understand how little of an issue this is. Compared to ranking and matchmaking issues currently at hand. But even in regards to the halo background elites are pretty significant actually. You are correct that nobody is having a mass exodus over the dis inclusion of elites, but it would be a nice touch to get away from the cliche human V human shooter for awhile. I have plenty other games that do that.

Seems I’ll need to add this lol.
