Guardian of Halo 5 is an enemy theory.

I have not seen what I am about to post on this forum nor I have seen anybody from Ultimate Halo, Greenskull or Halo Follower post this theory yet either in any of their Youtube channels. If I missed it sorry but this, as far as I know is a new theory. I’m so confident about my theory I’m actually afraid to post as I may receive a ban for being so accurate. Ha OK maybe not that good, but here goes.

So let me start by explaining how I came upon my theory. I was listening to the latest podcast episode 1 again for like the hundredth time. This time when I heard Ben say along the lines of “Sometimes you have to go back, all the way back to the beginning and see something, something out of place. A single thread.” It struck a chord with me. We all know he found John’s file. So I decided I’ll go back as far as I can with the Halo canon. I re-watched Halo Legends Origins since it starts from the very beginning of it all.

Right away around 2 minutes in I notice small similarities in the video and that of the thing we see in the E3 trailer. According to sources on Halo Nation it’s called a Guardian Sentinel and 2 escorted a key ship to the Artifact (the portal to the Ark) on earth. I remember reading this a long time ago about how we were suppose to fight one of these in a Halo 3 campaign level called “Guardian” but it was cut. Here’s there description:

“The Guardian Sentinel was originally set to appear in Halo 3 as a fighting enemy in a Campaign level that later became the multiplayer map Guardian. The player would have been able to rip out the Guardian’s eye beam and use it as a weapon in the campaign level.” -Halo Nation

And this taken from The Art of Halo 3 - page 31:

“The Guardian was a Forerunner Aggressor Sentinel located at the Ark”

So is it possible that if it’s true what Chief encounters is in fact, an ancient Guardian and it is awoken some how and that it may see humans as a threat and begins blasting everything in sight? And since Chief is the first to encounter this thing, that causes all of this destruction and Chief is labeled a traitor? Maybe that’s why in the E3 trailer he looks at the chip Cortana was once in because he knows that she knows the truth but since she’s gone perhaps the only way to clear his name is getting to the Absolute Record of the Forerunners which will further explain what a Guardian is.

Okay. That was my theory again if it has been said already I haven’t seen it anywhere. However, I did put a lot of thought into this. Also if you think I’m just a total idiot, feel free to let me know.

Thanks for reading.

Yeah, this was discussed earlier.
Edit: It’s still good info. Other people may like it.

Dang nab it. Now I feel like the old man from the Gieco commercial.

Do you have a link so I could take a look?

Edit: Thanks.
