GTX 900 series cards excluded?

Why are people with 900 series GPUs not being invited? My card is better than the minimum required one…

If 900 cards cannot run this game, I have SERIOUS concerns about the launch of this game.

Looks like the launch is gunna be very excruciating

Yeah i’m in the same boat as you, I had a gtx 960 in my DxDiag file that was uploaded on here from years ago and wasnt invited because of it. I now have an rtx 2060 and its just so frustrating that I missed out because of the stupidest little thing.

Is this the official reason? Jesus, I was wondering for days already why I have not been invited. I am still working with a 900 card, and it still serves me well with pretty much every current game on High/Medium. Halo Infinite does not look nearly good enough to justify excluding 900 cards.

Here I thought Infinite is supposed to be the “most inclusive Halo ever”. What do the guys at 343 think most people run? Do they believe the big F2P crowd is a bunch of 3000 series?

I played on my friends account, hope that’s allowed, looks like we’re too small a percentage of testers to justify fixing the bugs that come with the 900 series. Couldn’t even launch the game

People with 30 series cards are having trouble running the game because of how poorly optimized the game is for PC.

I feel this post, I have a GTX 960 and I’m going to have to wait till next years income tax to get anything better, I’m most likely going to have to get a
GTX 1650 SC Ultra Gaming GDDR6 because that’s highest I can afford with the sad area i live in. I know the game needs power to run its graphics but i wish there was a lower graphics quality for those of us trying to catch up. also i guess this weekend (Oct 1st-3ed) there’s an open Beta which ill miss do to the requirements.

900 cards are old now (launched 7 years ago!!) and people still using them will be replacing them soon anyway. Why would 343 spend time and money optimising for such old hardware that isn’t going to be around soon?
They’ve already had to optimise for the OG Xbox Ones which are all exactly the same spec - can you imagine doing the same again for every variation of a 900 series card?

because people still run them due to the destroyed market at the minute and the price of all new cards being sky high, your comment is beyond useless and it seems like it was only to bash 900 series owners. Brutal

by that logic the game should only come out on the series x/s because the xbox one came out in 2013

Thanks for not reading my post.

The Xbox One is old, but they are all the same. They use the game CPU and GPU. You are optimising for 1 combination of hardware for millions of owners.

You times that combination by several times when you look at 900 cards - there are a ton of CPUs and GPUs to optimise for - and for little benefit as the cards are old anyway.

People commented asking why their hardware hasn’t been optimised for and I gave them their answer. You can’t sugar coat it.

The market is not 343s problem, if you are running old hardware you will struggle with next gen games on PC. Simple.

There were some game breaking issues they were having with the 900 series cards that they weren’t going to have fixed before this flight so they dropped support for them. They announced those graphics cards wouldn’t be supported in these flights like 4 weeks ago, way before hand. A quick google search will give you more info.

Same issue as myself. Couldn’t figure out why I was only getting Xbox invites. Checked my DxDiag and it had my 970 I haven’t had for a very long time. At least I get to play though even if it is with a controller.

As mentioned above they were excluded from the flight. However if I’m not mistaken those select 900 series cards that are above min specs should work with the game come launch.
