SO. Am I the only one on here greatly disappointed by Halo 4’s version of the grunts?
No they suck and make weird sounds
Nope.
What’s wrong with them?
They are just as cute and cool as the previous ones.

I liked the Halo CE Grunts.
Halo 4 grunts are more superior than the older Halo grunts.
I miss their dialogue and shenanigans.
I like the way they look. Even the hunters and jackals are more menacing.
I like the new grunts.
Hell, I love every enemy in H4. They look a lot more menacing then they did in the past titles.
Why do they have to look menacing?
I liked the way all the enemies looked in H3. That was considered my default look for them.
I don’t like that apparently Spartans no longer have translation software in their suits. No more are the days of killing an elite and hearing grunts run away and shout, “He’s everywhere!!!” I wish the grunts still “spoke” English.
i will deeply miss them speaking english. them and the Elites that, is by far my only complaint with this game
I enjoy when grunts speak English, but for now I’m just going to entertain myself in campain with the birthday skull.
Grunts are cannon fodder, why would you take them seriously anyways? They should be saying funny stuff and cracking jokes, they know theyre going to die and thats how they are.
I understand why Bungie made them speak alien language in Reach, it was because they hardly had any contact with humans and the language itself.
In CE their speech was garbled and fragmented, but you could still understand them. It was the same way in halo 2.
In halo 3, they speak full english with good grammar, and are extremely fun to screw around with.
In halo 4, the canon behind their lack of english is to prevent humans from understanding their battle plans or whatever, but its not like they forgot how to speak english back in the days of the Covenant.
(The real reason? 343i shipped the grunts as well as just about everything else in from reach)
Ah, excellent. When I played campaign when I first got the game I didn’t have live, so it’s all I did. The grunts were an immediate… wtf? Bleh!
I don’t understand how you could hate them. They are grunts. Everything about them is grunt-like.
I think they’re fine. Wish there were more dialogs with them, however.
Nope, while Im ok with them visually (even the changes), the audio to them is the oddest thing Ive ever heard. I thought it was computer terminal stuff (mechanical and distant) until the second mission when I realized it was the grunts.
