Grunt species and sub species

Hello Spartans today I am here to discuss the grunts from Halo 3 and Halo 5 and my explanation for why they are so different. From this moment I am going to call Halo 3 grunts Muntai and I am going to call the Halo 5 grunts Criitay, In this explanation the Critay are a sub species of grunt similar to how the Ibie shan and Tavoan are sub species Kig Yar. The Muntai are mountain faring grunts with an extra toe in the back of the foot for stability and a hard exoskeleton to survive small to medium falls on to hard rock surfaces. The Criitay are a small sub species of Unggoy the are a sea side based species that evolved form a crustacean like organisms (of course though they are aliens and I used the only earth species comparable to it) they have extremely sharp teeth to tear through the meat of a fish like creature, they have small nostrils with seals that can close to prevent sea water from entering the sinus cavity, they as well have extremely tough exoskeletons that originally prevented larger creatures from eating the crustacean like organism. Because of there extremely large teeth the Criitay grunts could not use the standard Methane breathing masks used by the larger population of the Muntai grunts.

Now if any member of the 343 lore team would like to use this “explanation” that is fine by me I do not need recognition and you could tweak it in any manor that you wish. But it is rather unlikely that any 343 lore member would see this post.

Any how non 343 Spartans leave your ideas and thoughts about this in the thread below.

I’ve heard that explanation before too, and it certainly seems reasonable. Its about the only thing I can think of so I’m willing to accept it. I don’t mind the new grunts all that much anyway.

I don’t have a problem with the new grunt either(I actually like them better because they look cuter) but Halo wars 2 is using the “old” grunt and I thought of an explanation that 343 have not created as of yet

Uhm can you work for 343i please.

Is this your own back story for them?

I suppose, I was just bored one day and thinking about HW2 and then I thought of the grunts and started creating this.
