grunt goblin feels to tanky

is it just me or does the grunt goblin feel way to tough for how small he is? you can pound him with scorpion shot after shot an it doesn’t even remove half of his health. I dunno it just feels silly that this super grunt is such a damage sponge. wraiths don’t even eat as much damage as this thing. now add all of his stupid needler abilities that can sometimes one shot tanks an it doesn’t even feel right. it doesn’t look like it was made to be this overpowered an stupid. to me I think it would feel better if each one was easier to destroy 5 tank shots MAX but there were a few. an of course balance the instakill needler attacks. they’re stupidly easy to dodge as spartans but god forbid you use a vehicle. but since actually walking around in FF is a giant -Yoinking!- no no you’ll get shredded by something else soon enough that an even anti-vehicle weapons just barely leave a dent. I splasered a grunt goblin 3 times an his health bar barely moved. overall WZ ff is way to hard but when deacon -Yoinking!- pipap gets dropped off you an your team mine aswell find a corner to cry in for 5 minutes because he’s not dying NO MATTER what. it’d be do-able but just destroying his back-pack is a herculean effort.

Lol in every warzone match I’ve played on Escape from ark, everybody ignored the grunt mech until minimum of req level 9

They don’t need to nerf that guy. He is supposed to be a tank and a difficult boss to defeat.
Get a bunch of wraiths/scorpions and you are good to go.

It’s Warzone Firefight. Even the -Yoink- ing Elites feel tanky.

He’s a legendary boss. He has to be tanky.

Except REQs should only grant an advantage. They shouldn’t be mandatory for success.

He can be killed so easily, watch a few clips of people using the end of the line sniper on him, it one shots him if his canopy is on fire, I personally haven’t attempted but I’m pretty sure the clips are legit

Exactly. Players need to realize to use their reqs, in order to take down bosses like these. The most likely reason you are posting this in the forms, is because you are in games were players don’t spawn reqs.

And here is something I don’t understand. Why is it, players don’t want to use vehicles in this game mode? For example. I often see people getting a Spartan Laser/Heavy Weapon for a Round that has two Wardens/a Grunt Goblin, and it does not work because…

  • It has limited ammo.
  • A. I.'s around the Warden have Incineration Cannons, and Light Rifles with aimbot, so they can kill you before you can get about the bosses weak points. Covenant enemies will have Fuel Rods, and Void’s Tears (also with some aimbot). Meaning that basic A. I.'s can be O. P. if you don’t take care of them simultaneously.
  • The Wardens/Grunt Goblin have a lot of health, and the Spartan Laser/Heavy Weapon might take out a 1/8 of their health.So by having a vehicle in the game, you eliminate the first problem. But the second problem is where you need to coordinate with a team. Either you take care of the boss while your teammates take out the generic A. I.'s, or vice-versa. Also consider that your whole team can spawn in vehicles for extra firepower, and cover from generic A. I.'s. Then the third problem is solved when you have multiple vehicles firing at the Wardens/Grunt Goblin. You take its health down little, by little. It only depends on how willing your teammates are when spawning in high reqs.

I find it hilarious that someone said a Grunt…is OVERPOWERED! lol, (jokes but its still humorous)

He does not need a nerf, He has a pretty big weakspot and unlike most bosses your team can fight him with Special Weapons vs Vehicles compared to the other bosses in Firefight. I keep it the way it is…although I have’t come across 2 Grunt Gobblin’s yet in the same wave…which would be fun to fight.

Couldn’t agree more OP. They really need to tune the Grunt Goblins. They are way too tough.

That Round 5 on Apex, Pipap you mentioned. The ONLY way I’ve managed to take him out was with a Phaeton Helios. If I don’t spawn it, we don’t win, which is ridiculous. There has to be another way… Now, realistically, I’m sure there IS another way. Working together, everyone spawns a tank or a selene’s lance/rockets, but those knights that spawn with it… no way. I’ve focus fired on the knights to get them out of the way so we can start doing work on Pipap, but they don’t stop spawning!!! Its ridiculous.

Its so sad playing a match, everything is going well, and then you hit Round 5 with Pipap, and as soon as I see that, I realize I have about a 10% chance of winning the match… its so sad and disappointing.

it can take almost a full round to take out the grunt mech. then once he’s down you have warden eternal to kill in like 1 min lol so annoying

Its not hard…I would’nt mind seeing two grunt gobblins. I havent had a hard time with them at all.

Sadly that’s where you’re wrong. REQS are mandatory for a team to win and that’s how it should be in “warzone” firefight. It’s also why they are honestly throwing req packs at you left and right at the beginning.

ppl that get to round 4 and 5 who only shoot their precision weapons and lob grenades are the reason a lot of ppl are losing

The only useful loadout weapon is the smg with an energy bayonet in firefight, the smg shreds through crawlers, Promethean armor, knight weak spots and warden weak spot, but to get that close to them is the problem
