Ground pound thoughts

I know there is a huge sprint thread, but i would like to make a ground pound thread. I personally believe its just to much. I can justify all other abilities cause they have been in the books, but ground pound kinda came out of no where and i personally feel it doesn’t fit in the Halo universe. What are your thoughts?

I’m a fan personally. With verticality being a new feature they emphasized in Halo 5 (clambering, ground pounds), the latter just feels so satisfying to land. But if you miss, you expose yourself, so I still think it’s pretty balanced. Does it fit the Halo universe? Maybe not - but we are in an era of new Spartans that rely heavily on equipment and less on tactical skill, so you could make an argument there for it.

I agree with the balance and i’m guilty for having a good feeling landing one, but it didn’t feel right for Halo.

ground pound, can stay. but spartan charging has got to go!. even with the larger radar coming (back to the 25m) i still feel like it will be ridiculously broken

I like it for making jumps and saving yourself from falling off the map, but I’m not a big fan of it as a weapon, as people just abuse it

I really like the ground pound, a lot more than I thought I would. I always feel great when I get a kill with it. I think it is more fun than useful.

I don’t do it much but I have no issue with it and have been outplayed a couple of times with it. I’d keep if for Halo 6 but would remove Spartan charge without hesitation, awful ability.

I remember when they released a video showcasing all the new abilities we would be getting in H5 and when I saw that you could ground pound, I knew I had to get the game. I loooove it

Ground pound was a great idea. It fits really well in the Halo 5 sandbox.

Ground Pounds are so damn fun to use. It’s so satisfying when you piledrive an unfortunate victim into the ground…Super Mario style. In addition, you can use it to cover huge distances in a single bound, or make a hasty escape. And for the final nail in the coffin, destroying vehicles with a Ground Pound is like the epic epitome of “YOLO!”

Why you ask?

I once destroyed a Wasp with a Ground Pound…and I didn’t die in the explosion.

It always feels good when you land them
GP1
GP2

Im ok with groundpound. Its balanced and fun. Spartan charge on the other hand…

Nice,
I like it, I don’t use it that much but it’s a neat ability to cover distances faster.

Fine with GP. Spartan charge needs to go though

Well I’m surprised at the amount of positive feedback. More hate on the Spartan charge which i absolutely love lol.

Ground Pound I’m okay with it, stays or leave I don’t mind. But Spartan Charge on the other hand can go away as it rewards players for recklessly running around and rewards players a cheap kill for doing so.

I love ground pound and would hate to see it be removed. It is well balanced and is a fun ability to use. However, spartan charge must be changed. I don’t mind the ability but I do mind the fact that it has greater attraction to players than Osiris did to the Guardian in the campaign.

It would be nice to have the option to disable it like animations. Also with it disabled there isn’t a delay in your Melee after jumping. A trade I’d easily take

I like all the Spartan abilities, I think they should stay

I love Ground Pound. It is very useful for making larger and risky jumps, using the combo with the thrusters and it is also good for escaping fights.
Sometimes when I’m playing previous Halos I constantly hold the ground pound button, but nothing happens.
