Ground Pound Question

I have always assumed the ground pounds were a one hit kill if you manage to make contact with someone, I’ve been using ground pound alot but havent managed to actually kill anyone with it have i just been assuming wrong.

it also depends on how high you were when you did it.

Damage depends on charge time and height of the attack. And it has an AoE that weakens outward

Thank you all for the help.

You need to aim as if you’re trying to go through your target, rather than aiming directly at them.

What do you mean by that?

Whenever you’re readying a ground pound, try to aim as if you’re trying to hit something that’s behind your target. I’m not sure how else to explain it, just practice and you’ll eventually get it.

I don’t think it depends on charge time.

Ground pounds are a one-hit kill if your Spartan collides directly with the enemy. I.e if you’re directly above them you should be aiming straight underneath them.

Anything else just produces a degree of AoE damage

Not true. Sometimes when I’m one-shot and I’m being chased by the enemy I will run around a corner and charge my ground pound. As the enemy walks around the corner I will hit him directly with the ground pound without it being a 1-hit kill. I assumed that a little bit more height was needed to warrant the one-hit kill

Good question. Good to know.

depends on shield strength, charge up of the ground pound, and overall area you land. the closer you are the more damage you will do. direct hits are rare but have happened other times you get lucky like this. feel free to sub, and watch for more vids!

If the enemy is in the inner circle that shows up when your aiming it should be a one hit kill. Charging it only increases the AOE as far as I know.

For the most part it’s a 1-hit kill if you hit them directly but height and range are factors.

Charge height def has an impact on damage for those saying it does not.

No you were not wrong. I make almost every game a ground pound kill by hitting them directly.

One of my most awesome GP ever. I got launched by his shoulder charge and came back as a wrecking ball.

Definitely depends on height, playing on Battle of Noctus with the help of the man cannon in the Monument I once got a Double Kill ground pound from orbit before, it was like nearly 2 seconds of flight time with a pretty good payoff.
