How often are players able to score kills with Ground Pound in either Warzone Firefight against AI enemies or other players in the PVP modes? I find it pretty tough to aim the circular impact point while trying to hold down the B button at the same time. It’ll be nice to smash a mob of AI enemies when they spawn in but they move off before I can line up a descent.

It just takes practice to get proficient at it. Try to compensate for them moving as well. Don’t aim necessarily directly at them, aim a bit ahead of their direction of movement.
Unless they’re Crawlers or Grunts, you’re not gonna one-shot anything with a Ground Pound, and it’ll more than likely get you killed in the process. Anyway, it’s pretty easy smashing AI since they don’t actually try and dodge you. They’re just moving normally.
It’s pretty easy to ground pound AI in Firefight because you can predict where they’ll spawn, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless it’s a small group since they can easily overpower you in a bigger group.
I will probably never do another ground pound after I finish the commendation, but I find the best pvp types to do it are where a group of enemies are going for the same objective. Some examples would be roaming king, castle wars, and warzone assault (first base, temple, can be done attacking or defending)
Speaking for myself, rarely get GP kills in FF because I honestly don’t think to use it and stick to weapons/vehicles. As far as regular WZ it’s pretty rare for me as well since engagements seem to be at longer ranges. If you really wanted to go for them though, you could probably get a bunch in FF on grunts/crawlers.
I love the ground pound. It’s much easier in objective situations where players have to be in a specific area than in general slayer modes but it can be done anywhere, anytime. My job is a math related job and maybe my brain is just wired to love the calculation of timing and angles and anticipation of the enemy’s movement all at once. Plus it’s a great way to travel with the flag in castle wars, etc. Allegedly as per halotracker I’m ranked #116 in all time arena Halo 5 ground pound kills. So keep pounding!
The last guy sounded smart so I’m gonna lowbrow this up a bit while still responding seriously to your query.
I honed my GP skills in grifball. I find that the super fast pace games like grif and the fiesta modes really lend to some great poundings. I know it may seem counter intuitive but the fast paced games provide super op weapons which does a few things one is give a false sense of security second it usually means everyone is sprinting and moving with less caution. With this in mind it become a game similar to trying to Ninja kill a dude. Catch them off gaurd or move in an unexpected way. An unexpected pounding is the best kind of pounding.
The more cautious the enemy often can mean the more experienced so look for a less experienced partner to practice pounding on first. Then as you get better you Will be pounding everyone all the time.
Also avoid pounding groups chances are someone is going to make eye contact with you and there is nothing more awkward than jumping into a group of dudes and then fall flat in front of them without doing anything.
Oh btw the other nice thing about those op game types is that the likelihood of you dying is high anyhow so if you fail NBD rocket or hammer a few dudes to regain your confidence and momentum then try again. And some of those big team fiesta maps have great spots to catch someone by surprise.
