Just my two cents here:
Ground pound is frankly, unnecessary.
Yes, it’s a flashy way to kill someone, but it’s almost never the best option in a fight. It’s slow and unwieldy, i’m not going to make an argument to buff it because it is strong when it connects, I’ve just only used it twice effectively and had it used twice on me in the 70 games i’ve played.
For a game that focuses on balance and finely tuned competition, I think it just has no place here.
Halo is the type of game best played when you strip away anything unnecessary. It’s a barebones arena fps, that benefits from a small arsenal. Each weapon has it’s place and nothings there for filler.
As a side note, I think the br and dmr fill the exact same role more-so than ever, but I’m less concerned with having them both in the game.
I think the game would be better with ground pound removed or replaced with just being able to spartan charge downward somehow.
Thanks for reading.
Alright. Lets just reduce everything to mid size 4 person maps, only have AR, BR, Sniper, Shotgun, and Rockets. Nothing more. Cuz, you know, barebones arena.
Or, or, Ground Pound is a fun addition to MM. I entirely hope it is in campaign as well.

I would play this for ages, except for the mid size maps part.
My only suggestion for removal was ground and pound, and possibly either the br or dmr.
I’ve found everything else like sprint and boost and whatnot to be very integral and useful.
I just think ground and pound is redundant and doesn’t have a significant role in a fight. I would agree that it’s fun, just fairly pointless in a multiplayer game that otherwise puts a lot of value into it’s various features.
Yes remove + the spartan charge, But I feel like it is going to stay reguardless, I just hope the listen to the bumper jumper players as most myself included hate it being on the left click. Keep accidently getting stuck in it when jump over object and while in a fire fight.
Yeah, I’m using Halo 4 controls because I hate crouch being right stick. And having ground pound on B makes the ability even more clumsy than it already is.
I don’t mind spartan charge, as long as it’s consistent. I’ve been killed from the front instantly from it which it’s not supposed to do I believe. It also has a weird delay, or it doesn’t play well with lag. I like the idea of the charge, I think it just needs a little work.
Yea it’s mostly pointless but you do feel like an absolute boss when you get a kill with it so it may as well stay.
I don’t know how to use things therefore things are useless. Duhhh
I like it. Both charge and slam are situational. That doesn’t mean they need to be removed.
Personally I’ve used it to punish people who chase me around a corner where I have the advantage.
As for charge it’s great to on hit someone who’s sprinting away. I don’t have to stop to shoot when I can just bash them in the back for a OHK.
It shouldn’t even be called ground pound. It should be called -Yoink!- of death m
ground pound, sprint, spartan charge, assassinations, and thruster are all unnecessary when you look at the big picture (because the original Halo games didn’t have these features)
That said, they’re elements that make the game fun for some people (myself included). I didn’t HAVE to kill that guy with the ground pound, but I chose to and it felt great.
You have tested it in a limited setting.
How will G&P react when applied to a tank or hog?
How useful or broken will it be when dropping outta a banshee?
Have you tried applying it as an escape?
It isn’t breaking the game as of now so it shouldn’t bother you. It seems more of a crowd pleaser than anything at the moment.
