Griffball

Anyone here have any tips on Griffball?

I keep on going super negative and this Halo 5 Griffball is so different from Halo 5.

I feel so lost.

Be patient. Use your hammer. Just keep testing the range of your hammer. Don’t go in alone. Play with a team

learn the range of your hammer, watch for team kills and stay alert!

Why can’t I seem to kill ball with a Hammer?

Ball Carrier has extra shield, so the Hammer can’t one-shot him (most times). Also, the Ball Carrier has priority, so if you both swing at each other, he’ll kill you just about every time.

It takes some time to learn the timing. If you find yourself going negative my advice would be to try to party up with a few of the people that are doing well or at least better than you. The result will be done even harder games but as you play with better people you will get better. It is seriously the best way to improve.
Don’t bunch with your team.
Move unusually… Like Sprint past dudes at a wide angle and the second that they keep going reverse and boost after them to catch three flank by surprise
Pass the friggin ball
I would also tell you to really watch your radar and get used to what the hammer kill radius looks like on there as well.

I could literally give you tons and tons of advice, cause this is my game mode, but first let me ask you this: what is your play style offense, defense, runner, or maybe goal sneak?
If you can narrow it down I can give way better advice; and just remember kill stats don’t matter here. Only team play and helping to achieve goals.

I don’t even know my playstyle
I’m randomly doing things

I like holding ball, just for that extra health/shield

Alright ball carrier. Here is a beginner tip for carrying. Think of your team as an extra shield they are constantly advancing. Your plan should be to stay just about at the edge of their hammer reach behind them. They will all die but don’t worry they will be right back. use the times where your teams number is thinner to be even more defensive and utilize the thrust to rapidly change directions when enemies get too close. I also like to draw the enemies back and forth to each side of the court in a gentle sort of arch this slows their progression on the field and gives my team time to move up. This takes time but patients is key and the payoff is a lot of ball champion medals. Also please don’t be selfish if you see a teammate sneak to the goal pass it to them you did the work they got a minor reward for it but the team ultimately benefits which ya know you’re party of the team so you still do benefit. Another tip of you have a teammate you know it’s start throwing the ball back and forth frequently. Many enemies will stop chasing you when you throw the ball as this to a teammate who is willing to pass as well and you are able to rapidly move up the court while disorienting the enemy. My all time favorite games that I have lost involved a team that has great password my all-time favorite games that I’ve won involve me duping the majority of the enemy team into following me back toward my goal only to pass at the last min. And immediately score using my team support.
