Grifball

Okay so does everyone know about the unwritten rule in grifball is to kill each other and not score. Why is that so hard to understand for some people? It’s only 15 mins go watch a YouTube video or something. Or go play another game if you want some fun. But all I’m trying to do is rank up while maintaining my K/D.

That’s considered boosting, and not everyone knows about the same exact thing you do. And good luck maintaining your K/D, most people spawnkill and boost at the same time, even if you’re friendly.

I wish is projected out there so people realize you can do it.

Yes, it would be more “fun” for boosters, but please try to refrain from boosting, at least mix your playlist up a little, maybe adding some BTB in it or something, but you do you, I’d just rather not only grifball boost.

or you could play the game like a normal person and not boost. like boosting in every other game, it’s not gonna make you any better at the game. ask any moderator/admin/staff here on waypoint and they will tell you what you’re doing is against ToS. Players don’t make the rules for the game, the developers do.

People are trying to play the game and it’s boosters who ruin the experience for them. “Or go play another game if you want some fun.” Isn’t that what they’re hopping on Grifball for? You can’t expect players to comply with something that’s not in the description for the game mode and is not supposed to be a normal part of gameplay.

‘Peace Games’ and Spawncampkilling to boost cR, Commedations and Statpad (Boost Kill to Death Ratio) violate Xbox LIVE Code of Conduct as it is exploiting a game mechanic in a way not intended by the developer for personal ingame gain at a rate that is faster than/not possible with legitimate gameplay as intended by the developer. Spawncampkilling is also considered Griefing and degrading of the Quality of Xbox LIVE services for other users, which also is against LIVE Code of Conduct.

I would suggest you take the time to read over the binding agreement of Code of Conduct you agreed to when you created your Xbox LIVE account so you understand why people are stating what they are stating. What you are doing is a reportable offense through LIVE’s report feature, and the binding agreement of Code of Conduct is not a suggestion, it is an agreement to use LIVE services.

To talk about players making up unwritten rules as they go seems to come across as entitled, and that is not justification for cheating or griefing either. People are trying to have fun and play the game the way the developers intended and it gets ruined by people who want to cheat instead. Not everybody can grab seven friends on a regular basis and take Grifball to custom games, which is why they try to use the matchmaking services for Grifball on Halo: Reach.

i heard if you hold on to the ball for long enough, you will get lots of credit after the game. Its weird and stupid.

I’ve moved up about 3 ranks doing this just trying to find one legit griffball match. If you can’t beat 'em join 'em.

I saw my teammates being spawnkilled at about 4 AM, and I couldn’t stand watching there, because I know how bad it is to be spawnkilled, it’s also the 2 guys who spawnkilled me last match, so I killed them and got revenge, and lets just say they couldn’t spawnkill us again.

I don’t even like Grifball the way it’s supposed to be played. When a few friends dragged me into matchmaking and I saw what your “unwritten rule” is all about I can only say “f#ck it.” You guys are either just standing around doing nothing or spawnkilling each other. There is literally no fun in that and all those credits you get to buy all the shiny armor that was unlocked by ranks you have yet to earn by actually playing the game won’t get you any skill or praise. Rank generally doesn’t mean too much but in your case it’s like an Inheritor being in Private 1st Class mode. Simply pathetic and nothing else. Maybe go play Mario Kart if earning ranks in shooters is too hard for you.

This game is 8 years old now? Boosting in 2018 is kinda pathetic. You could just play the game normal and enjoy it. If you don’t enjoy playing it the way it was meant to be played then don’t. If you want to pay a game mode where you don’t do anything the play firefight.

I agree with this completely. Instead of highjacking a playlist to cheat and/or grief, play the game as intended by the developer. Code of Conduct is binding, and intentionally cheating the system as I mentioned above is a reportable offense and when the Xbox LIVE Enforcement Team recieves the report, they can decide whether or not to issue a manual ban.

If people want to play a gametype where minimal effort is required for cR payout, Gruntpocalpyse in Score Attack is a great alternative. People would be in a game by themselves, where their actions do not affect other players, and it is easy to play and in some cases outright avoid the grunts if they wanted to by playing the game as intended.
