So now we have the ability to throw bombs and oddballs could this could be implemented to Grifball? I think it would be awesome and make Grifball feel like more like a real sport, although now Grifball arenas would probably have to be larger to acommodate long passes and such. Now it will have to be based on teamwork more than ever for both offense and defense.
A good question. My gut says that 343 should be cautious and stick with no passes in the default, but the Grifball community at large will definitely have some clear info about this once they get their hands on the game. I’m curious about it.

Well obviously we would still have Grifball classic, but they brought in Grifball evolved in Reach, this would just be a step further.

Sure. I’m associating this, strangely, with that huge demand on the Bungie forums for a Quidditch gametype in Grifball that never got traction. Or did it? Truth be told, I haven’t played Grifball on matchmaking for quite some time.

- Have FUN! (except Grif)
Tossing the ball does not change ANY of those rules.

That’s a good question. However, I think the guys over at the Grifball hub have control in what goes into the gametype, much like MLG has control in theirs.
If they think it can work, they’ll do it.

Only if you made the gameplay to resemble Am. Football. Could just as easily make Aussie rules Ruby, or Canadian Lacrosse.

I have a feeling that now that people can throw the ball, the Grif killing will be much more efficient now.

LOL I can imagine
game starts, I somehow grab the bomb and for some reason I throw it in the air, the other team gets distracted hoping for one them to become Grif , my team slaughters them and I would scream out “YOU JUST GOT SARGED!!!” planting the bomb.
Oddball throwing is confirmed, but oddballs and bombs are not the same thing. I haven’t heard anything about throwing the bomb.
I doubt they’ll change Grifball. There’ll probably be an option in customs to toggle it on/off.
I’m sure they’ll have a classic grifball gametype in the Grifball playlist. I’m looking forward to this new grifball, if it actually happens.

Don’t be so sure about that. I know that a LOT of grifballers that are VERY excited about the bomb passing possibilities.
