Before the first Double XP weekend hit Halo Reach on MCC, my friends and I liked playing Grifball as an easy and relaxing way to casually level up through the reward system, but now it’s so infested with boosters gathering up at the bomb point to alternate killing one another with swords to boost XP points and it ruins the game for us. It’s gotten so bad that I can’t go a single game without it happening, or at least someone trying to start it up. So we brought it upon ourselves to try to put a stop to it every single time, and we just get bombarded with hate speech. Can’t say it’s not earned on our part, but this shouldn’t be an issue to begin with!! I will continue my work against toxicity!

Just let people know that they are tracking it, and people abusing it have a high chance of getting caught in the banwave with the afkers. I was doing swordline for 1 hour until someone brought this to my attention.

Yea I got a lot of I don’t give a -Yoink- then hate and derogatory statements thrown at me, on the other hand most of the swordliners can’t even grif I’ve all but scored an extermination on em multiple times and I’m not good enough that I should be able to do that consistently

if they really ban players for this Halo MCC for PC will be dead
I do t think they’ll ban everyone for doing it. Honestly it just indicates there’s a bigger problem with the leveling system than anything else. Plus this has brought the community together!

Saying the game will be dead sounds like hyperbole to me and I’m sure there’s a pattern. A couple ways would be to look for games starting at the double XP weekend which have an inordinate amount of sword kills and hardly any hammer kills and/or look at where the majority of the kills happen.

most ppl are "swordline"ing … so banning them will lead to a massive ban of the whole playerbase
look on steam how many players already quitted BEFORE the afk bot and swordline problems occured
this game is a joke since release and ppl are making the best of it by PLAYING TOGETHER

I doubt people doing that will be banned, but I could see their unlocks or double XP getting reset if 343 did do something. I also don’t think it’s a surprise that the game had a big drop off which I very much doubt is because the game is a joke. I can see people leaving due to the tech problems, but I think most left because they’re just drive-by players, they had their nostalgia fix, Forge isn’t out yet or Reach isn’t the Halo game they want to play on PC.

Personally, I would rather have a tiny playerbase filled with people who actually play the game compared to one filled with people boosting and being AFK

I already do. Hence why I am in this forum and not the one for PC players. Boosting and AFK players are a problem on both platforms.
