So I just learned the hard way (And got banned for the very first time) that kicking is still in Grifball. I had a teammate who betrayed me several times, clearly by accident it IS Grifball afterall, but the moment I make my first accidental betrayal near the end of the match I get kicked. I played a single match of Swat and was immediately told afterwards I was banned. (I know its not from from the swat match)
I have next to no DNF’s. Only 2 this passed month (Just now from being kickd and then again about a week ago when I had to use the restroom during the game, I was not able to get back in time.) But all in all, I dont care directly that I was banned, but now I feel cautious about going back to Grifball. the whole point of that gametype is shenanigans. Hard to play when people, including teammates, are in close proximitiy with a melee weapon with a devastating FoE.
So I must ask. Why is betrayal booting still in the mode? I get why we cant have no friendly fire, but this just adds to the mode’s issues than helping. I mean, betrayal booting wasnt in the Reach or 4 variants.

I have same problem as you do i hope 343i will fix this for grifball. I also fix your spelling error lol.
Same thing just happened to me. I played a game where I kept getting betrayed because of how frantic it was and had to keep dismissing the pop-ups (I assume my team-mates did the same for me as the game finished without incident). The next game, I get booted for betrayal pretty quickly. Played another game where I was super careful to not hit team-mates and got the banhammer message after it finished.
It is very frustrating considering that betrayals can actually be a tactic in the game to get back on defense faster given how fast the respawns are.
It is unfair for teammates who genuinely didn’t mean to betray others but I’ve played a few Grifball matches where one team member was purposefully trying to betray everyone and I know there are many more players like that who do it for no reason other than to annoy people.
From what I heard the betrayal boot threshold has been increased, but booting is still in the playlist. The other day, this guy purposely betrayed my whole team until about the 15th betrayal he was booted. Very odd how you were booted after one accidental betrayal.
Because git gud :^)
In all seriousness, I don’t know. Getting a little silly, 343.

Clearly this is the case. But it looks to be a pooled amount of betrayals instead of a person-to-person basis.
I play a lot of grifball, but Im not sure I want to keep playing if there’s a chance I’ll get booted and banned again. (You could use that argument for other modes, but unlike slayer, your teams are generally close by all going for the same target with power weapons. team-killing is hard not to do in Grifball.)
