Grifball Redefined?

In Halo Reach and 4 one of my favorite gametypes was Grifball, as it was to many others. I am curious as to how Grifball will play in Halo 5, due to the SA’s and the thruster. Will map layouts be reimagined to cater the SA’s, or will they keep the classic Grifball experience, or both? I hope we can see some SA’s having use in Grifball to get some creative tactics to kill the opponents. What do you guys think?

Personally, I hated Grifball. It was too… boring. It was just not my style. To each their own, I’m sure they will either add it and the thrusters will just be barely useful.

I probably haven’t, I just don’t like the K/D ratio, it’s normally crap for everyone. I want to stay near the 2+ K/D Grifball doesn’t let that happen often.

It’ll be interesting to see how Griffball could potentially benefit from the new abilities. But if they try to make the arenas more complex to maximize on the new features, then it’ll end up being too much like Ricochet. Unless they just group it all in the same playlist and have Griffball be represented as a simpler variant of Richochet

As long as Halo Reach, Jet Pack Grifball variant never sees the face of Halo again. Dash griff is more exciting than sprinting at least.

I hope it stays the same, it is fun because of how basic it is, we don’t really need a bunch thrown into the mix. Of course, new “sub modes” could be added, like in reach, but the primary griff ball should stay the way rooster teeth made it.

Then again, I did have my share of fun passing the ball in halo 4.

Meh. If you’re playing Grifball for stats you’re doing it wrong. Winning games while going super neg is where it’s at. :slight_smile:

My teammate broke stats in Reach once because he had scores with 0 seconds of carry time. Those were super fun days. :slight_smile:

Lol Grifball dash was probably my 2nd favorite variant. My first was Field Grifball (Ricochet-Grifball mix)

If I judged by my K/D, I would’ve just ragequit about every Grifball game i played lol

Half the time I played Grifball in 4 and Reach, I’d frequently have more Betrayals than Deaths. Everyone going for the ball at the same time “accidents” happen.

…I’m sure they accidents, quite sure.

I honestly can’t see Grifball making a comeback in Guardians… seems too MLG for a somewhat silly gametype like grifball.

Yep. After they gave GrifballHub $5k for a tournament at RTX, they’re just gonna say, “Eh. Eff Grifball.”

We saw a Brute. I’m feeling very hopeful we’ll have Grifball. :slight_smile:

Considering I always go in alone, and never play with a team, I rarely ever ‘win’ regardless of my K/D, so my entire goal is a positive K/D for the team. Sometimes I can carry the team, sometimes I can’t, sometimes I don’t have to.
